I married my wife in 1995, we both lived and met in a country other than Colombia or the USA, we fell in love and wanted to start our family in my home country. I honestly thought that I had every right as an American citizen to marry anyone I loved and that if that person was from another country we had a system to deal with the paperwork in a reasonable amount of time. It took us over 8 years (of hell) to get her citizenship. When I grew up I was taught that America was the land of the free and all people who didn't do anything wrong would be able to thrive under our system. Well that system is broke. It's as bad as any third world system we American's look down our noses at. My personal experience with US Immigration was terrible. They are rude, angry, hurtful, ignorant people who don't care about their jobs or about human beings in general. There is a cancer in the Immigration system. Everyone I met in three different cities made me sick. If American's knew how bad our system is they would be embarrassed. I read this article and I am not surprised at all. The worst part is that there exists over 150 criminal complaints that have not even been looked at. Can you imagine the abuses? Where is the accountability? Is this America? How can Immigration officials go years and years of abusing innocent people without any policing?
The USA Immigration system is an utter embarrassment and needs to be completely shut down and started again from scratch but this time with integrity.

deathnova says on Mar 22, 09:48: No, the system is bad. If a U.S. citizen with a clean record wants to sponsor someone's visa they should have that right without having to go through an army of middle management USCIS clowns. This is the way many other 1st world countries operate and they're not melting down yet.
