American University in Colombia?

Hello Everbody!
I have learned much about Colombia from this website. I am coming to Medellin and possibly looking to buy a small apartment there. I was curious if there happens to be a university from an accredited institution of the USA? I ask because as I have traveled in lived in many foreign countries, most have had them. I would love to attend college in Colombia to learn the language better, get my degree, and have it paid for by the US government through the GI Bill. Or even if there is an university that offers it's classes in english, as my spanish is poor...but I'm working on it. Thanks! beef27

Beef I am afraid there is no such thing. I know some degrees, like Medicine, in Los Andes -Bogota- are accredited in the states. But there is no such thing as an American University.

GI Bill in Colombia It is possible to use your GI Bill benefits at some universities in Colombia. This likely applies to most major schools. However you need to find someone in the school administration who is familiar with the paperwork. There can be delays of several months from the time you actually start school until the money starts coming in.

Contact the Va at www.va.gov

Good luck.

Hey Beef27 I am also going to Medellin for school, the college does not have to be accredited just the course in the school has to be accredited by the VA. If you call 1888-GI-BILL-1 (1888-442-4551) they can give you a lot more information. They did tell me it does take a few months for you to actually get your money so its good to have some sort of savings if thats what your planning to live off of. Also EAFIT University has great immersion classes for non-Spanish speakers as well as UDEA and UPB... here are some links to the schools.
