American is running specials to Colombia. From LAX.

I just got this from American's web site.

American Last time I was on an American flight leaving Colombia (two years ago), they had a woman standing before the check-in counter interrogating all the passengers. This woman went on and on with me for about 15 minutes, asking all kinds of dumbass questions that weren't any of American Airlines' business. I think it was Cory Doctorow from BoingBoing that had a bad experience once with this kind of BS from American.

Anyone know if they still do this? I know I won't fly American again until they knock it off.

Taxs are based on the ticket prices and the securty fees are fixed. I beleive for this ticket it will be less then 100 dollars. Yes, it is a good deal. They had this same off during the summer. I just waited to late to get it.

As for American and the screening. This is random and will ocassionly happen. Just put it with it. Who cares if you spend another 15 minutes. Make shit up. On the way back I had to go through customs inspection, just because I came back from Colombia. That sucked. The inspector was really cool. We talked about Colombia and the cute girls.
