Hi, I currently live in Chile but I want to move to Colombia to teach English in June. How long can I survive while looking for work with this amount of money?
Plus what is a good monthly wage? Is 1.400.000 ok?
Thanks for your help

And overseas even worse. At height of RE boom dreamed of working in Spain and saw many job ads that basically said if over 35 need not apply, I don't like waging those kinds of bets. Then they hobble with their canes out to their convertible mustangs and burn rubber leaving the parking lot. All in all it is surreal. Robert Jorge says on May 8, 2009, 16:02: I appreciate Papasotee referencing me higher up in this thread. But for the record, in the other similar topic thread, I was just sharing my own expeience in a much smaller city than Bogota and even Medellin. Things where I was at were/are definitely more economical. I also aknowledged that I didn't have health insurance which was, looking back, foolish. But I also stand by what I said about living off of 1.5 million pesos. If I could go back now, I would rent a 250.000 cop house instead of a 450.000 apartment. Internet was by far my most expensive utility. And with all of the Internet cafes, I could have done without it also. And as I said in the other thread, what I needed to be happy didn't cost a hell of a lot of money. "You can not take the barrio out of the girl you really can't." Oneforamillion 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
