Alternatives to Andres Del Carne Res?

To follow-up, I posted a question about restaurants and some of you had negative opinions of Andres Del Carne Res. Any alternative venues in or near Bogota you would recommend for a combination of dining and dancing? Not a place totally overrun by twenty-something singles looking to get picked up.

Thanks, Bill. Is there dancing at that place? Any idea of the specific street address? What is it like - rustic, modern? Just looking for a nice, not too crowded place for dinner and fun.

Theres another place in La Calera...cant remember the name but I bet Bill knows. It has an awesome view and there is dancing after everyone has eaten.

I found this information on a website. I wonder if it's the restaurant you guys are talking about.
RESTAURANTE EL HUMERO AV Pradilla No. 5A - 05 8636662

I would not recommend Andres Carne de Res as the place for good food or good steak either.
But if you are into dancing or decor maybe ACR is the place. Bill Turley advice sounds pretty good and JMCana recommended "Carambola in Tabio (maybe 10 to 15 minutes from Chia) on Friday or Saturday night. Not as big and not as crowded and a little less expensive."
Here are some photos of Andres Carne de Res when I visited it last year.

I hope this is not redundant but there is a place on the road to El Calera where they have some of the most tender flame roasted beef I have had outside of Argentina called "El Tenero." On the right weekend or a holiday it is packed with Colombians, and apparently they get their beef from a local guy who feeds his steeds milk. Thin sliced veal with onions and capers is also available for a price. Best in the late afternoon with an excess of Aguilas and a glass of Chilean Syrah with the meal.

Thanks so much, guys! I'll have to check on these other options. Adres Carne de Res looks over crowded.

Portena, have you tried places like Salto Del Angel in Bogota? That seems like what you're looking for.

I'd always advise that a visitor to Colombia should visit Andres CDR at least once on a weekend night, just for the experience. If you want to go there to dine, go on Sunday afternoon.

No, Mr. H. I had a very quick trip to Bogota and didn't really get to visit a variety of restaurants. So, for future reference I'm trying to find places that would be worthwhile. Where is Salto Del Angel?

ACdeR is actually a case study at the Harvard School of Business. The food is not the greatest, but it is still worth the visit.

A case study? Demonstrating how they manage to attract so much business? Through social connections, word of mouth or a variety of factors? Sounds interesting anyway...

Pappasito I think you are right on the name, I need to get up there more often. Another favorite of mine is Museo De Tequilla, good Mexican food and every bottle of tequilla imaginable. Little pricy though.
