Airport Taxis in Bogota?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a safe taxi service to take from the airport? Or do you know if platypus makes arrangements??

Thanks!

If you want to take a taxi, there are little taxi booths near both the international and domestic arrivals exits. You tell them where you are going and they'll give you a printout with the price you should be charged. This is the only recommended way to catch a cab at the airport.

The airport taxi stand is very reliable and safe. So much so that when I arrived at the hostel the driver was confused when I tipped him. After immigration and baggage, exit the airport and turn right (there are big signs for taxis). The person in the booth will write a ticket with the price, location, etc, Then get in the taxi "line" and the officials there will wave you over when they have a taxi for you. Note; they only take pesos, so get cash out at the atms, an odd amount, so that you get smaller bills (example; take out 220,000 instead of 200,000 if possible, so you have a 20,000 available.

Another note, if you cant get cash out of the atm and are staying at Platypus, they offer to pay your taxi til you can get to an atm. Contact them directly for more info on this. German, the owner, is a rock!

And now I really want to know what German from Platypus has done to travelgoddess ;-)

What I have, I do not want to lose, but Where I am I do not want to stay, but those I love, I do not want to leave, but those I know I no longer want to see, but Where I die, I do not want to go;I want to stay where I have never been
