HOW MUCH WAS YOUR AIRLINE TICKET TO COLOMBIA?
WHY DON'T WE ALL REPORT WHO WE TRAVEL WITH AND HOW MUCH WE PAY?
QUICKEST WAY TO FIND OUT THE BEST PRICE TO TRAVEL TO COLOMBIA WITHOUT HAVING TO SERF THE NET. FOR EXAMPLE LAST FARE I HAVE SEEN FROM LOS ANGLES (LAX) TO PEREIRA (PEI) WAS $580usd PLUS TAX ON TACA AND AVIANCA. MIAMI (MIA) TO BOGOTA (BOG) WAS $280usd PLUS TAX ON AVIANCA. HOW MUCH DO YOU PAY?

Dionysus says on Sep 13, 2004, 17:10: Says who? Ronaldo: I agree with you. We should all join forces in our common aim to go to Colombia. Tell me, where exactly are you finding these fares? What time of year is your LAX-PEI fare for? The TACA.com website doesn't list Pereira as a destination on its website. Know of a good roundtrip fare from LAX to Cali in the second half of December? TACA has one for $825usd. Is that because it is the high season? Is that the best fare I can find out of LAX for that time of year? I am thinking of going there for the feria.

Roncita says on Sep 14, 2004, 01:35: I have just paid £642 for a 6-month return ticket to Bogota from London with British Airways. That was the cheapest I could find and I got it straight from the BA website. It might have been cheaper to fly Avianca via Madrid but I prefer to fly direct.

Roncita says on Sep 14, 2004, 06:54: I've flown with Avianca from the UK and Spain several times and have never had any problems - except with small things like the big TV screen at the front not working properly (once)! Not had problems with internal Avianca flights either, as far as I remember.

juanalejo says on Sep 14, 2004, 09:37: STA travel I had some friends who had some terrible problems with STA Travel, they got a good deal on BA, but they were never told the difference in ticket classes. The problem arose when they were wanting to book in August back to London and BA did not have their ticket class available until October, and their ticket was not possible to upgrade to a different ticket class ( from Y to H ) or something like that, and they finally had to buy a one way full fare to be able to go back to London. Basically you can be given a ticket who is flexible in dates, but the airline might not have a space in your ticket fare available for a long time. In BA´s case they were told they tend to be sold out 60% of the year and that is why cheap ticket class will hardly ever oppen. So unless you are sure of your return date, these cheap tickets are not always the best deal.

CasaSol says on Sep 14, 2004, 12:37: TACA/West Caribbean You may want to look into flying TACA (taca.com) airlines to either Costa Rica or Panama and then connecting to Colombia with West Caribbean Airlines, which is based in Medellín (http://www.wca.com.co).

British Paisa says on Sep 14, 2004, 13:00: I think that if flying from the UK British Airways is not the best choice anyway as they are normally late leaving bogota and they stop in caracas, open the doors and let all of the humid air in, and you can't leave the plane for 1 hour.

caslug says on Sep 15, 2004, 12:17: Ticket prices are very hard to pin down, other than saying try going during low season (mar-oct at least w/ AA). Using places like cheaptickets or other consolidator can save a few bucks here and there if you don't make any changes AND don't care about miles. Miles are a great way of traveling, because some airlines don't charge a change fee if you want to extend your stay or go back early. Heck, you can even change departure city at no add't cost. Here's an example, if want to travel to COL during low season (before Oct 15) it cost 35,000 miles and high season(Thanksgiving/Xmas/New Year) is 40,000 miles. And you can change dates and departure cities w/ no penalty.
