Latin American airports increased security on Thursday after the British authorities announced they had foiled a plot to attack aircraft heading for the United States from London's Heathrow Airport.
In Colombia, the national airline, Avianca, said it had boosted hand luggage checks, but had not changed its flight plan.

utopiacowboy says on Aug 12, 2006, 17:27: Very strange thread. Has the OP ever gone through Colombia flight security? Anything in the US pales by comparison. I once got off a flight from San Andres to Bogota and thought that I had time to make my flight to Miami because there was still an hour to go. The guy said, No sir you've missed your flight. How could that be, I thought, I still have an hour. When I left the next day I understood - it took two hours to go through all the layers of screening. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

famsearch says on Aug 12, 2006, 21:27: that isn't so bad. due to my getting her ticket in her married name, sis in law had to have her passport changed. they added the change to her existing passport. still, the names on the ticket and passport didn't match. did anyone notice? nope, not until we entered medellin, and when we were leaving medellin. only time noticed here, was when we got to our home airport, but not even when we entered the country. hopefully things have gotten better... dan 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
