Anyone have any airline recommendations for a person travelling from San Diego CA to Barranquilla? I plan on staying down there, but the one way is pretty much the same cost so Im goin to round trip it I guess. I see COPA has pretty good deals...but was wondering if anyone else has any recommendations. What do you all think of COPA, or do you have any other international airline recommendation? I have flown both Avianca and American Airlines before

Papi de Alejo says on Aug 29, 2009, 11:01: Going to Barranquilla from the West Coast, COPA is your best bet. If you can get a very cheap transcontintnetal flight to Miami/Fort Lauderdale, you can find some good deals from That area to Barranquilla. I know that there's a lot good and bad to say about Spirit, but in my opinion they are also an option to Cartagena as it will cost you only 19,000 pesos from there to BAQ with a puerta a puerta like MarSol. There are also other puerta a puertas, but I don't know anything about them or what they charge. Live simply... Love generously... Care deeply... Speak kindly... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Both sites will give you the same results it's just a matter of preference as to how the sites present the results. No use looking anywhere else, they have the cheapest fares and all the flight possibilities.

Gator says on Aug 29, 2009, 12:02: COPA is our airline of choice-plus you still get two free bags no more than 50 lbs each-you will change in Panama City but that's no hassle. Last time COPA reservations beat the best fare offier ie Kayak by $26 USD "Bene, cum Latine nescias, nolo manus meas in te maculare" . 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Smile and everyone will wonder what they are missing. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

sanandressi says on Aug 30, 2009, 10:21: Well, if someone can drive you to LAX from San Diego you can go on Avianca or Copa and connect in Panama City or Bogota. American from San Diego Lindbergh to Miami and is American flying to Barranquilla direct from Miami? There are no direct flights from San Diego to Panama or Colombia or are there? Maybe you could go from San Diego direct to Mexico City and on to Bogota all on Mexicana then over to Baranquilla on Avianca or Aerorepublica.

apeters says on Aug 30, 2009, 12:29: there are not direct flights to Colombia...you stop off in Panama which is ok :) First the flight goes to LAX then Panama City and THEN Barranquilla. Its kind of a pain, but its ok....im just a little worried about the 1 hour layover in Panama, I hope that is enough to go through immigration and all

Papi de Alejo says on Aug 30, 2009, 13:05: I have only flown on COPA through Panama CIty. If that is what you are doing; you will never have to go through immigration. It will be just like a US domestic flight. You get off your plane and look for the gate for the next leg. You will not technically enter Panama. You will remain in the secure are the entire time. Chriscan (☼Travelguide writer) says on Aug 30, 2009, 13:12: I did LAX to BAQ and it was probably the best trip I did to Colombia. I will never fly AA again. They ripped me off in a big way. If you fly with them record every conversation you have with them. They basically stole about $800 from me. Beam me up Scotty; No intelligent life here. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
