What do I do after san andres? I need to go to bogota for a temporary visa to stay in colombia right? Must this be done before my tourist visa expires? I have a time issue now. Trying to book tickets during a holiday weekend is almost impossible but unfortunately its the only time my fiancee can get off of work. And it seems like there are a lot of surprises in the price for example if I pay with a credit card the price goes up by 50.000 pesos per person. I want to put off the trip until after the holiday weekend but then I won't have time to go to bogota until after my tourist visa expires. Anybody know if this is a problem?

Gator says on Jun 20, 2007, 15:52: Are you on an actual tourist visa or did you enter using your passport? How long have you been in the country and are you just looking to extend your stay?? What type of visa are you looking for? "Brevior Sltare Cum Deformibus Mulieribus Est Vita!" . |

mranderson says on Jun 20, 2007, 19:40: I entered with my passport on february 12th. Das won't extend my tourist stamp on my passport past july 12th. I want to get married with my gf and live here in colombia so I'm looking for a residence visa I think. My roommate just told me that I need to go to bogota 10 days before my tourist visa expires after I get married. Unfortunately I don't have that much time because I'll be returning from san andres july 2nd. My roommate also told me I have to go to das tomorrow to apply for the cedula first. So I'm going to do that tomorrow and hopefully get more answers.

chicomalo says on Jun 21, 2007, 05:36: first is your res visa and you need a lot of paperwork that needs an apostle stamp on. Birth Certificate, marriage if your married in the states, police background check, a letter from her with notary stamp stating she wants you to get visa. You need all these documents translated in COlombia by a official notary translator.
