after looking at the new fees for the 129f and 130...

all i can say, is that i'm happy i stuck to the 130 and rode it out, instead of being impatient, and foolish with my hard earned money, by paying for both the 130 and the 129f. after looking at the increases in fees, i would say that the gov't. finally figured that they had a good thing going, and if people were willing to part with around $300, they just upped the fees to what people were willing to pay. once again, another case of too many people trying to take advantage of a situation, and it's finally backfiring.

It may interest you to know that under the new fee structure there is no charge for a spouse filing an I-129 for a K-3 after they have paid for the I-130. I paid for both the I-129 and the I-130 and I only waited 5 months for my wife to live with me instead of several years. It was money well spent.

dan, I think you're trying to read an aweful lot into numbers, here.

WTF has love got to do with money? (jajjje... a loaded question in and of itself).... but...
Why are you JUDGING OTHERS' MOTIVES? about why and when they are filing for what?

Ciao! Gustav.

John_Stark,

Weren't you the guy who vomitted up the following:

"There's no way a gringo of any substance would ever marry a colombiana and no way a Colombiana with any class would ever marry a gringo."

You then went on to state on a thread that has now been deleted that Colombianas and Gringos who married each other deserved each other because they were the dregs of their respective cultures.

I had you pegged as a hateful bigot and a racist where now I'm relieved to learn that you are merely a spineless liar and a hipocrite.

The most important thing would have to be whether you're happy or not.

All the other judgemental crap can be left to those with too much time on their hands and nothing better to do.

TimeFor, if you're relatively new to the site, John_Stark is also UtopiaCowboy and he's helped a lot of people with their visa related questions. From all accounts, he also has a very happy marriage to a woman from Colombia. From time to time he creates a new identity and posts a lot of irreverent comments. Sometimes those IDs get deleted. Don't pay too much attention to them.

Tinto,

Thanks for the heads up. I have no problem with his helping out with visa emergencies. Hell, he can spend all day helping little old ladies cross the street for all I care.

His last comments weren't written to be irreverent, they were written with the intent of stigmatising a group of people based on the race and the social status of their spouse.

Did you even read his last post ? If you did then I'm sure that you would not be sticking up for him right now.

And if you were married to a Colombiana, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be talking to him either.

I was so happy when his racist, elitist taunts were purged from Poor But Happy. My wife, who is the sweetest woman in the world, enjoys reading some of the posts on this board. I would hate for her to have seen that one.

Yes, I read it. But he's usually poking fun at himself with those comments. He knows what he's doing. I don't know why he does it...but I suppose he has his reasons. He claims he's disgusted with the "fluff" on the site, but returns again and again to participate. Seems to me, if he really disliked the site so much he'd

1. ignore the junk that doesn't interest him
2. avoid the site completely
3. post something constructive or at least non-insulting. If everyone followed this simple instruction, the site would be a lot better.

I have to agree with UTC/JS. After spending tens of thousands on travel to Colombia, an extra thousand or so in additional fees for a K-3 is well worth it, even if the K-3 only hastens the process by a month or two.

BTW, for anyone that is going to begin the K-3 visa process, please note that the filing process and locations have changed in addition to the fee increases. K-3/129-F packets are now to be sent to either the California or Vermont service centers based on your location. After August, any packets sent to the Chicago lockbox may be returned.

Tinto,

Of the 39 posts he's made in 11 days, 18 were abusive and or racist in nature. His posts contribute nothing but his own personal style of hatred and intolerance to this site.

John Stark penned the following:

"what do you colombianas see in gringos?? There is now no doubt in my mind now that it´s the money. No style, dont know how to dance, dress or treat a woman, no passion, bad looks, no manners, etc etc etc..."
Loser Colombianas loser gringos. No Colombiana of quality has anything to do with a gringo and no gringo of quality has any need to mess around with Colombianas. It's the dregs of both countries that are stuck with each other." - John Stark

It baffles me how someone can condone and even appear to support the gutteral, racist poison that spews from this man's mouth EVERY SINGLE DAY !

If we are going to delete people for making stupid or insulting comments, then why don't you start with EVERYONE who does it instead of a few people? I have had a lot of insulting comments directed at me or worse at my wife, calling her a whore etc. None of those people, who I can still name, got deleted. So Timeforachangeofscenery, there is more going on here than you are aware of.

john_stark,

I'm not condoning any of the unpleasant behaviour you may have experienced on this site.

I am however, critical of the anti-social behaviour exhibited by cowardly, mal-adjusted, anti-social individuals who attack and berate others while safely hidden from scrutiny by the cloak of anonymity.

Without fear of consequence, these indiviuals feel free to expound their racist, xenophobic beliefs in the form of unrelenting personal attacks on their fellow posters.

These people always have their own reasons for their abhorrent behaviour but their personal problems become everybody's problem when they fail to control their urge to lash out at others.

It's interesting that you mention "without fear of consequence". No one ever faces any consequences for their remarks against me no matter how vile. Just as in real life I think I have the right to retaliate if the authorities do nothing.

Robert Jorge says on Aug 11, 2007, 22:52:

So, the crap you wrote, basically calling me a loser and my wife a loser is justifiable, because of what somebody else wrote to you in the past? What is silly about that rationale, is that you alienate and anger people who would have been supporters of you, if they had been members of the site when what you are talking about happened. You have a lot of valuable, useful, and appreciated information: Yet because of your beef with select individuals in the past, you make people that need your help and would otherwise support you, think you are a dickhead.

Famsearch,

I'm with you on this one. I also chose to let the I-130 be and we're close to getting an interview date. Only 1 extra month vs. the K3 visa, plus my husband will get his green card and SS card a month after he gets here without the hassle of AOS.

I also spoke to a VJ member today who came from Colombia on a K3 visa and now USCIS is trying to deny her AOS. It's been really tough on her since she got here.

good to hear that mono, all we have left to do is the interview about a month or so before her 2 year anniversary here, and that's it, she's here permanently. no mucking around with extra paperwork and fees. the only reason ours took as long as it did, was that we were caught up in the mess in the nebraska office, when they started to send paperwork to other offices. even uscis couldn't tell us where it would end up, because they received our paperwork so close to the cutoff date that it could have gone either way, to nebraska or california. luckily enough, it went to california, and into the nightmare of their trying to fit in the extra paperwork. either way, we got our visa, the interview, and all the rest, and she's gotten to experience both a minnesota winter and summer now. the other day, she said that here in minnesota, when it's cold, it's freezing cold, and when it's hot, it's broiling hot. i told her to look on the bright side, that in a little over 3 months, we'll be seeing snow again. i got one of those world famous "you gotta be kidding me" looks.
