I think many who visit Medellin have been led to belive that Aeroparque in Medellin is just a barrio along the 70 that borders the Olaya airport. Not sure how many know there is an actual water park there where there´s a huge pool, winding water slide, jet slide where you fall straight & fast, wave pool, cabling where you cable and then drop into the pool, picnic area, and more. And almost never any waiting. Entrance all of $5 mil with unlimited use of all the above includad and with a Comfama card it drops to like $2400!
It doesn´t compare to the water park out in Giradota but it´s a nice place to bring some kids and spend an afternoon.

tomtom33 says on Mar 5, 2007, 18:00: 5K? I went there with my novia and 3 of her boys on Christmas Day. I may be remembering wrong, but it seems that I paid around 10K for all 5 of us. The boys, triplets, were all 12 or 13. I don't know what a Confama card is. I don't think we showed anything.

I love so much living in Colombia - I feel like I am at home in another world (which I am). Mind you I am a gringo from Indiana - but if you open your heart and soul you will discover and enjoy another world and life that is so different than what we have here in the US.. Mononoke28 says on Mar 6, 2007, 08:18: I grew up... ... close to that area and the way they made the whole park is great. The last thing I did with my husband is go to Campos de Paz to visit some family, put flowers and prayed. Then we went to see the planes take off and land at the Olaya Herrera. That was fun but it was even more fun when the Olaya was the only airport in town and you'd see those 747s take off and blow you off your seat! And then after that we went to get a fruit salad from the places across the cemetery. Man, I miss Medellín. =( Diana 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Mononoke28 says on Mar 6, 2007, 08:25: You should've... ... gone to check it out. Colombians are so into "poor" people vs. "rich" people that I don't believe what they say anymore. I've gone to nice restaurants where my cousins say "oh that's for poor people"... uhmm... excuse me but who died and made you a billionaire? Last time I checked you didn't have money for the metro and now you don't want to eat an empanada in this place? Shoot! Diana 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

spigrimace says on Mar 6, 2007, 10:16: Registering Pools in Medellin Just recently, every pool in Medellin had to be registered with the Alcaldia, departamento de Sanamiento. All of them, including gated communities, backyard pools, pools in Gyms, etc. Not sure if they did that to issue a tax or if a health inspector will go and make sure it´s not a biohazzard.
