ADDITIONAL QUESTION FOR RUNNING BUSINESS IN CALI COLOMBIA

HELLO,

IAM A FREIGHT BROKER IN TEXAS AND ALL OF MY WORK REQUIRES INTERNET, FAX, AND PHONE. IF I WANTED TO MOVE AND LIVE IN CALI COLOMBIA, CAN I STILL RUN MY BUSINESS FROM THERE. I DEAL WITH TRUCK DRIVERS AND DELIVERIES, ETC.ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES. IS THERE A WAY TO HAVE AN 800 NUMBER OR CAN THIS BE DONE. CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THIS QUESTION. I KNOW THAT LONG DISTANCE CHARGES WOULD BE CRAZY SO ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

I ALSO FORGOT TO ASK THIS. I GET PAID FROM THE COMPANY IN TEXAS, SO HOW WOULD THAT AFFECT ME GETTING MY MONIES IN CALI COLOMBIA. WILL IT HAVE TO BE WIRED? OR HOW DOES THIS PART WORK

As far as banking, you cannot get a bank account unless you are Colombian or have a resident visa. I have a businees there, and my businees can have a bank account, but I can't. The best thing to do is use ATM's and bring in money (

i have family that lives in Cali who still use there US bank accounts. ex: Bank of America, Wamu etc... Just have to notify your current bank that you will be moving for so long or permanent.

Hello Irma,

I have friends in Europe who swear by Vonage. You have your high speed line their in Colombia and then you just get your number and use that as your business number. The quality is usually very good let alone the price. By they way, I am interested in the freight broker business. My cousin had a trucking company in Oakland, CA for years and he then moved into setting up loads for computer companies and chemical companies. I know it is lucrative but have not really been able to put in the time to research it more. What a great job to have where you can get paid in USD and live a great life and spend that money in Colombia.
