Accommodation in Medellin?

Hi Everyone,

Well I've finally booked my ticket and will arrive in Medallo next month for 4 weeks.

I'm looking for accommodation in a relatively safe area.

Can you please recommend some good places for accommodation?

I have seen some good deals in Prado Centro but I'm wondering whether this is a safe area??

Poblado is also appealing but I want to experience the real Medallo!

Thanks for your help!

Suerte.

I would defenately avoid Prado... every time I went by there there was either a man walking around stoned drunk swinging half a bottle at people or two very large teen luchando con cochillos o robando alguien o si pasas por la noche hay MUUCHOO gente oliendo pegamiento... it´s like a scene from a horror movie.
But yeah it is cheap, but you might loose your walet.. so quizá no tanto. .

Brian's Tiger Paw in Poblado is perfect.
I've stayed there a few times and it is safe, comfy, and close enough to everything.
Private rooms or dorm. style is available.
I'll be back there soon for sure.....

"Poblado is also appealing but I want to experience the real Medallo!" El Poblado is in Medellin!. You take a taxi and you will be wherever you want to, the same as if you stay in another area, but a lot safer.

I would agree with what Lisa says. You are going to get alot of attention, some of it unwanted in many Medellin neighborhoods and a tourist just does not have time to acclimate.
