My guess about this guy from Canada is that he picked Colombia for women and never has set foot in Colombia. I first found a nice woman that happened to be from Colombia, not 10 pictures! Personally, I think Introduction agencies discount women and their personalities.

Im sorry but your friend should had taking Spanish classes to a least get to know the person on his own. He should not be asking another person to do the talking for him and honestly I will feel awkward in his situation. He should invest that money in Spanish classes and than travel South America or Central America trying to find the right one.

My spanish was so so when I first arrived to Colombia. My first girlfriend spoke English, so it was no big deal. When I decided to get rid of her and was introduced to my wife, I learned Spanish in a heart beat. I did not need anyone to help me when it was time to take it to the next level.

It is not always the same... a translator to find your future wife in an agency... he must be a desperate pendejo and he deserves the worst.

This thread sounds like some Hollywood chick flick box office smash flop. Middle aged yank heads south to Latin America in search of a wife- Sets out demanding parameters for his translator who conveniently must also be a woman. Meets a string of beautiful women over his 11 days, each nice but with their own flaw that somehow means he cannot get attached to them.

Unbeknown to him (but not the saps that have paid 10 dollars each to watch this rubbish film) he spends more and more time with the translator, slowly revealing what he seeks in his ideal match, what his ideals and morals are in this life. Meanwhile the translator empathises and chips in with what her dreams are and what she would love to achieve.

Gets to day 10 and he ponders for one minute that his journey may not be successful, there is something not quite right in his heart but he doesn't know what it is. Despite lots of rom-com type happenings, he has not found his ideal wife.

Day 11, the translator takes him back to el dorado, they share a coffee, bid each other farewell and he heads through security. Cue sentimental music as cameras follow the yank as he gets frisked 15 times by over zealous colombian guards, meanwhile the cameras also follow the translator back to the car park.

Next thing we know, his aircraft is taxiing to the runway, but what is that in the distance? yep it is the translator chasing the plane on an avianca mobile airport staircase. The plane stops, the yank disembarks, they look into each others' eyes, kiss and cuddle a bit on the tarmac and live happily ever after.
