Please...
1. Stop using words like "nigger." I read that thread and deleted some of the posts after it was clear the offender did not make a single unfortunate reference. He followed up his initial remarks with more ugly biases and sterotypes. Keep your thoughts to yourself or find another website.
2. There is no surer way to make Colombians (male and female) feel unwelcome on this site than to create lists of Colombian cities with the ugliest women and the dumbest women.

Juanes says on Aug 17, 2006, 10:34: please call me pobrecito inglito thanks and not gringo well as far as im concerned and having spoken to my friends in mexico, guatemala, argentina and peru, gringo is a term of endearment for the US people - maybe the origins come from all those cowboys in the oldern days taking a horse ride down to mexico and raping and pillaging the mexicanos ans stealing their land in the old southern california. http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Juanes/ |

Miguel_Clavo says on Aug 17, 2006, 22:04: GD...it can be used as a term of affection, meaning "little" or smaller....gringocito means "little gringo"...or it can be used in a belittling fashion.....like an insult to an adult...sorry juanes, you are still a gringo...meaning any foreigner, not just the US....denial is wonderful...use whatever you want to describe yourself, but the rest of the world will still call someone from England a gringo......and in many places "gringo" is just as offensive as the "n-word"...the moderators should enforce the "g-word" as well as the "n-word" to be consistent, if it is offensive to anyone. No race has a monopoly on the english language or is the final authority.....believe it or not..... "I would rather die living life, than to live a dying life."........ Oh, and my PM is always ON. utopiacowboy says on Aug 18, 2006, 08:55: What is this nonsense? Your wife is calling you gringo? Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. |

famsearch says on Aug 19, 2006, 14:20: as for me.... i'll stick with gringo, easier to describe me than: swede, polack, injun, limey, mick, frog-canadien, frog, kraut. that's my basic make up, swedish, polish, not 1, but 2 tribes of indian (arrows not dots), english, irish, french-canadian, french, and german. dan |

elk says on Aug 20, 2006, 08:00: Calling someone a Gringo I have lived or spent time in Mexico and all of Central America since 1973. Most people I met called me Gringo and it wasn't meant to be offensive. I think in Mexico however it could be used in an offensive manner depending on the speaker.
