After leaving a club in Granada at 4 am a man was attacked at a red light by a mob of transvestites in the Santa Monica area, what the hell is going on in Cali, no wonder medo was all wound up last night.

Gravemente herido

What a horrible way to go. I truly cannot imagine a much more bizare or hellish way to leave this earth than being attacked by transvestites. What did this poor bastard do in a past life to deserve this?

When I visit Cali I've always been amazed by the number of transvestites walking around freely in this area. I stay in Granada and this is supposed to be one of the nicer areas. At first I thought it was kind of funny. I mean, to each his/her own, yet another example of what makes the place colorful. I didn't always know the transvestites were particularly dangerous. Here, if I were to dress as a woman and walk the streets it would be MY life that was in danger. But in Cali, you better beware of the trannies.

Walking with my friend once, he told me to cross the street with him in a certian place. I thought going another way was more efficient. He said no, evitamos las transvestis. Now I understand why. I'm wondering now, is this typical of the transvestite/prostitution culture in Colombia and other SA countries, or is this unique to Cali?

As a gay guy, I prefer guys that look like GUYS. Sure, I've known guys that get their jollies from crossdressing, whatever. But for sex? Someone explained to me that in SA closeted gay men might look for a transvestite prostitute because that seems less gay than just sleeping with a man. It doesn't seem less gay to me!! No judgement here, I'm just amazed at the quantity of transvestites here, and don't quite get it.

No troll bait intended. Just honestly interested if anyone has any insight on why this is so prevelant in Cali, and if it is in other cities in SA/LA. I don't see trannys on the street in Bogota, but maybe I'm in the wrong area. (Or the right area, depending how you look at it). In Bogota, around 85/15 guys will try to give me a leaflet for a show ?whiskeria?, and say "Chicas, chicas..." I want to say to them, "y los chicos?", but then the will to keep living reigns, and I just keep walking.

Is it like that on the coastal cities as well?

Posted on May 25, 2009

I live in Santa Monica ...the trannys have their territorys...calle 21 y calle 20 con av 9...before I moved up the hill more and before I had a car I would have to walk right past groups of them...apart from the usual aaaiii papi cat calls and once one actually grabbed my crotch I simply took HIS/HER hand with a nice tight grip and moved it away said no thank you and never stopped walking . other than that incident i have never been bothered...I think if you walk like you know what your doing and know where you are going ....even if you don't people tend to respect your space.....The trannys in that area are known to be aggressive ...but usually someone instigates them somehow....I personally witnessed from a half a block away an incident that ended with guns pulled and leveled at the head of an aggressive tranny who had a bottle in his hand ready to cut someone...the gun belonged to a passerby who because he saw what was happening and tried to help what appeard to be the victim....remember that they hang out in groups drinking and smoking weed...so they can be pretty bold....my little advice is if you can avoid the areas where they hang out ...do it.

I do really hate those things (trannies) near las Ramblas in Barcelona they come out at night, they are bold and grab the tourists balls, German tourist love that to find out later they were pick pocketed, which is what happen to me in Costa Rica while walking back to my hotel, I had to pass right through them and they started with the shit.....hola hermoso.....venga con migo, I knew their game so I was very aware of not getting touch, this MF tranie was so quick that within minutes he was in a taxi, then I knew, I always put my money in different pockets so it was able to only take about twenty bucks out of my pocket......MFs...I hate them.

For some reason you see them more in Cali. I did see one in Sante Fe, I guess like the village idiot theres got to be the village tranie.

Posted on May 25, 2009

Poor guy. If it was in the US, can you image how they explain this to the family.

Did you say "he was killed by a train?". No trannies. You mean multiple trains? No I said "trannies"!

I don't understand all the spanish, but there must be more to this story. Can't believe they attacked him for no reason (of course, there is never a good reason for killing someone), maybe he provoked them heavily or something. Whatever happened, it's sad. I walked around that area several times, also at night. The locals told me to just avoid talking to the transvestites, and I would be fine.

TN.

Posted on May 25, 2009

They probably did it because he wasn't interested in their "services" or didn't wanna get robbed or something... Marika...

Posted on May 25, 2009

Unfortunately just another reason to not stop at traffic lights at night. I used to think it was so dangerous to drive like that, and actually the opposite is true.

Posted on May 25, 2009

Like TN says something is missing, first all for someone to find a rock pick it up and throw it theres enough time to get the message and blow that red light or if am in a light where I see many suspicious characters, I'm blowing that light, look the guy came out of a club where most likely had a few drinks, thats enough to inpair your senses, nevertheless its s terrible thing to have that happen.

Posted on May 25, 2009

My **guess** would be that he had some choice words with the Trannies, who took exception to his words, and decided to ratpak his ass....

Posted on May 25, 2009

My theory also Clavo. You stop at the red light, you hear the cat calls, you are a little tipsy, you answer back like.....maricas ijueputas, the ratpak moves in end of story and one life.

a man killed by transvestites in Cali?
Damn! I hope it wasn't La_Campina!

I'll have to call to confirm he's still alive.

Posted on May 25, 2009

In San Jose Costa Rica, where I lived before MDE, the trannies are plentiful and well known to the locals to be very dangerous. The locals know not to walk thru a certain park where they hang out after dark but the tourists dont and get robbed and strangled frequently, fortunately not strangled to death as far as I know. But some tourists have been beat up pretty bad. Some of the trannies you can spot a mile away but some others really look like women and can fool you. I am sure that they are in MDE but I am not aware where their hangout place is, does anybody know so we can stay away from that spot? KF

This story is traveling I saw it on the Honduran news last night!!

Posted on May 25, 2009

My novia fears the trannies because of their reputation for smoking bazuco, carrying knives and basically going off on wild ultraviolence in a completely unpredictable way. When we were in the vicinity of Calle 8 and Cr. 20 (not far from Pamperos Argentine steak house), we had to take a long and circuitous route to get to the Viejo Baril by Sexta and 24 in order to avoid them.

Posted on May 25, 2009

wow, i stayed 2 blocks fro that in cali a week ago.

one guy bought perico from thm, another got pickpocketed when one grabbed his crotch.

i just wonder how they make any money. all the gay guys i know say straight guys are the only ones into crossdressers, and none of the straight guys I know would ever admit to paying for a man dressed as a woman.

Posted on May 25, 2009

It seems everyone in Cali is aware of this area and the trannies, lets hope this weekend murder would spark police activity in the area and get them out, again they are there because of men looking for their services, this I can not comprehend, why would you want a man that looks like a woman? why not just a woman, the real thing, like the gay guy on one of the other post mention, I want a man that looks like a man. Its all to weird for me. What people do for SEX of anykind is beyond my comprehension of this sexually driven world we live in. Gay, lesbian, bisexual, trisexual, straight, transexual, pedophile, everyone is one of the above, humans certainly enjoy do it and go out of their way to do it.

Walk around there all the time,,, just say no gracias with a smile and keep moving.. dont let them get to close to you..

Posted on May 25, 2009

PCL: "Walk around there all the time,,, just say no gracias with a smile and keep moving.. dont let them get to close to you"

Apparently it's not easy as that...

I remember a time when Nelly and I went to a show in Barranquilla. By "show", I mean a dinner with some Cuban live music. The show ended up at around 11 PM. It took place around CRA 53 # 72 - hardly a "hot spot' in Curramba. Whist we were walking back home, she told me to be on the look out trying to explain to me that, at night, things were MUCH different (than during the days). Indeed, we saw many trannies who seems to have appeared from nowhere.

They didn't bother us, but the overall feeling of the city had completely changed. As if the rules had completely changed since the sun had set (which was indeed the case). At night, you have to deal with a completely different set of rules. At night, you're thus "playing a game" over which you don't/can't control/change the rules. It does help to accept these limitations to stay out of trouble (as a rule).

Darloup trannies in Corrumba also? according to elmo thats where men are men ant the burras are nervous.

Posted on May 25, 2009

Ferran: Yep muchos ("muchas"?) trannies... It's a different ball game at night... No wonder the barranquilleros have a bunker mentality. Sadly, Barranquilla has the record for now being the most dangerous Colombian city for aggressions (although the homicide rate is way down.). But, hey, I'd rather be aggressed than killed!

Posted on May 25, 2009

Darloup what do you mean by "Aggressions" you mean people are agressive or like muggins or extorsions.

Posted on May 25, 2009

Ferran,

If yiu're genuinly interested, then please check this thread: http://poorbuthappy.com/colombia/post/2008-statisitics-on-urban-securitysafety-in-colombia-have-been-published/

I'm currently waiting for the official stats January/March 2009 (which I'll post here in due course).

Barranquilla has now become a mean city. You stand less chances of being killed (as in Cali where the situation has definitely worsened), but you stand far more chance of being aggressed than in any Colombian main cities.

The official explanation:
"Siete de los diez delitos analizados se redujeron en Barranquilla durante el año 2008 con respecto a 2007. El
secuestro y la extorsión fueron las modalidades que más descendieron. Por el contrario la ciudad presentó las
tasas más altas en hurto a personas y hurto a bancos. El aumento en algunos delitos en Barranquilla se asocia
con ajustes de cuentas y presencia de bandas criminales en la ciudad que pugnan por el control de diversos
negocios ilícitos."

A ver...

Posted on May 25, 2009

Cali, Barranquilla, Bogota have trannie spots of large numbers, what about Medellin? whats going on here I tought Colombian men were so macho, it seems every major city (with the exception of Medellin) has a big trannie scene, thats one thing for sure gringos dont go to Colombia for, they go for the real stuff......Girls!!!

We dont allow trannies in Cartagena ....jajajjaja...we send them to BAQ! ajajajajja

Posted on May 25, 2009

Hey Johnny: "I am half sniggering in disbelief at reading this, I live near the Bogotá tranny zone and I had never had them down as violent sorts."

You're clever enough, and I also respect you enough, to know full well that just because "nothing happened to me - yet" - is not proof enough that the risks don't exist.

"No dar papaya" yet remains number one rule in Colombia... And walking after 11 pm in the streets of Barranquilla IS taking a risk - albeit a low one per se (but an increasingly high one, even in the Prado district where we live).

Miguel Clavo: "We dont allow trannies in Cartagena ....jajajjaja...we send them to BAQ! ajajajajja" You're probably right on that one! City lights and opportunities...

Posted on May 25, 2009

Gato, good analitical point making full sense, living in New York to my surprised realized there was alot of latinos that were into trannies, some of my Mexican employes would brag about how they had a shemale giving them money and things, I still find it lacking essence and a devious sense of scape for those that favor this form of sexuality.

Posted on May 25, 2009

Yep, good analysis Gatogris.

Posted on May 25, 2009

Johnny, I know you're not... Trust me, Benny Hill has nothing to do with it....

For some reasons, Barranquilla has now become very dangerous of late . Especially as regard to petty crimes.

Posted on May 25, 2009

YEH I am staying like a block away from where that happened,,IN Lima walking on cesar vallejo near Arequipa I had Trannies pull of my glasses had to give them a few soles to get it back, Careful they can be crazy there Mexico city and Cali,,Wow Crazy Stuff Man...

Posted on May 25, 2009

What a horrible way to go. Do you think the Trannies got that Frenchie found dismembered in Bello recently?

Posted on May 25, 2009

Now we have a marginal group of ITS to blame for everything, yeah is the trannies fault the world economy is so bad.

Posted on May 25, 2009

I'm with el clavo on this one. Give me cartagena and those pesky little vendors anyday....

Posted on May 25, 2009

The transvestites were spreading swine flu I heard.....
Hey Salty...maybe we could have a grudgematch.......vendadores vs. transvestites!!!!! Cali vs. Cartagena!!!!!

Posted on May 25, 2009

NCMike, there are lots of trannies in Villavicencio. They seem to stick to a certain area just outside of the Centro. I was having a nice lunch and saw a group of them being obnoxious out on the sidewalk. One dude had skin tight sweat pants that left little to the imagination. I have heard these guys don't lead a particularly pleasant life and rarely make it past their mid twenties. (for various reasons including being whacked)

Posted on May 25, 2009

Looks like I repeated a point that Gatochris already made. I just didn't read the whole thread before posting.

Posted on May 25, 2009

Sign me up.....what do I need?
Lipstick, dress, wig, drug habit, curiosity of homosexual men....
Did I miss anything?

Posted on May 25, 2009

Nope, you got it NYB. But you could probably do better just wearing your fire suit with the suspenders and gear. Gotta be a huge market for that.

Posted on May 25, 2009

Hahaha! Im sure there is somewhere!!!
I think I bumped into Elmo dressed as a transvestite in NYC one day last week!!!

Posted on May 25, 2009

Did he smell like striper (fish)? If so, it was him.

Posted on May 25, 2009

bombero,
That would be awesome. I'd have to give the edge to my beloved vendedores though...the trannies wouldn't be able to run real good in those stilleto heels....and our massage girls could throw that green goop on the ground so they'd slip on it...

Posted on May 25, 2009

Without a doubt!!! Some of those massage ladies had a grip strong enough to squeeze the life out of a tranny!!!!!

Posted on May 25, 2009

BARKA TRANNIES......

I guess it woudnt be fun being a trannie in a muslim country, all they have to worry about is the heavy eye makeup.

The ultimate..... A muslim trannie on high heels selling souvenirs in Cartagena.

Posted on May 25, 2009

The trannies that killed that guy are now fully identified. It's a gang called the Sons of Ximena de la O, Ximena's real name is Jimmy Cardenas. Another of the attackers, an Ecuadorian trannie is called Natali. Other guys in the same group inlude Mercy from Tumaco, The Sisi, Isabela y la Pegui.

The prostitution in Granada and Santa Monica will be wiped out Mayor Ospina has promised.

Posted on May 25, 2009

So now we have ilegal alien trannies, I knew it, thats why there is no diplomatic relations between Colombia and Ecuador, its all a conspiracy by Correa of Ecuador. Yeah lets blame it on those trannies.

Posted on May 25, 2009

Its lovely and quiet on the corner now
