But, is a person from ecuador an ecuadorian or ecuatorian, I always thought it was the later, if so the bbc have got it wrong, yea I know, who cares, like I said pedantic

I think it depends what language you are in.. In Spanish it is Ecuatorian(o/a), in English Ecuadorian.
