A caution about the Buy & Sell forum

It has come to my attention that some PBH members with an apartment for sale or rent are getting "scam offers" via email. A recent offer concerned an interested party that wanted to ship some ITALIAN FURNITURE from EBAN SRL FURNITURE COMPANY (emphasis not mine) to Colombia and wanted the apartment owner to pay the customs fees when the furniture arrived. The interested party promised to reimburse the customs fees with the first rent check, of course.

As scams go, it was poorly written and very transparent but other operators are a lot more professional.

If you should receive an obviously fraudulent email from a PBH member in the future, please forward it to Peter or to me.

Be careful out there!

SCAMS OH Yea, and how about the one where they want to buy your property and will send the money to you but they need you to pay there bank a fee to release the money so they can buy your place....all bull.....watch these scammers....have a great week
