A Bucaramanga English-Speaking Cafe!

I was sitting in a tienda last night, drinking some Aguila with my girlfriend, and this guy came up to me asking me if I was from the US....

This guy was from the US, said he's been teaching English in S. America for the last 30 years, and that he owns and operates a small cafe here in Bucaramanga.

He told me about a drink special, and "English Speaking" night (every Thursday and some Fridays) where locals and internationals come to speak English in order to allow those who need practice with the language some free conversation. He also has a great beer special that is buy 4 get 3 free for Thursday nights. The cafe is at the intersection of Cr 32 and 47 in Cabacera, across from the only Tommy Hillfiger (sp) store in the city.

I plan to go there while I'm still here in Colombia since it seems like a great way to meet some locals that also can speak English with me.

I just wanted to share this here since I know there is at least a few English speakers on this site who live in Bucaramanga also.

Salud.

I'm pretty sure the place is called "Tempo" or at least something very close to that. It's the only cafe on that street I believe, so it should be pretty easy to find. It's a very small place, but I haven“t been there yet. I'll report on the prices after I visit the place.
