February 1st, is Dia de Movilidad in Bogota, the 9th celebration of Bogota's Day Without Cars (Dia Sin Carros). It is expected there will be *more than 1 million fewer* vehicles on the road.
Bogota is the largest and longest participating city (at full scale - many cities participate on Sept 22, but usually onnly portions of a city, or in far smaller cities). Dia Sin Carros was part of what won Bogota the prestigious Stockholm Challenge in 2000 (out of 600 applicants) for demonstrating revolutionary innovation in transportation.
If it is possible I would be hugely indebted to anyone who can take some photos and share them
