It has been 9 months since I file the I-130 and I did not file a I-129F, not quite have a reason for it but did not do it, I'm frustrated at this point and not sure what is about to come from now on, so I have no clue if it would be wise to file the I-129F at this stage. any advice on the subject would be much appreciated. thanks. I think if I stick to the 130 he will be here in 2012, but if I do 129 he will be here before the year ends hopefully.HELP HELP!!!!

Mononoke28 says on Mar 26, 2007, 11:01: I would make... ... an inforpass appointment to find out what is going on. 9 months since you filed the I-130 is way too long. They can at least try to find out what is going on with your application at the infopass. If that doesn't work, then you should call your congressman to see what his/her office can do. They have a special group who works on these type of cases. Diana 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

scotty says on Mar 27, 2007, 00:47: 9 months that does seem like a little to long, however, please do not forget who you are dealing with "goverments" which means anything can happen. just get on the phone and see what the hell is going on. good luck! laloca says on Mar 27, 2007, 09:24: called and spoke to an immigration agent and all she said was that I was going to get a letter within a 30 day period and if not I needed to call back. all she explained was the backlog of vermont. she did not have specific reasons why it has taken so long. I did make an appointment at infopass, would it make a difference if I go to the appointment, will they give me more precise answers. what do you think?

Mononoke28 says on Mar 27, 2007, 14:46: Yes!... ... definitely go to the infopass appointment because what they do is get straight answers directly from the CSC agent for you. If they can get them, of course. Diana 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

famsearch says on Apr 3, 2007, 13:16: 9 months is nothing... we started our paperwork for the i-130 in feb of 2005, and she finally had her visa in hand around sept of 2006. but then again, we were going through the california office. dan 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

laloca says on Apr 5, 2007, 07:11: infopass appointment? USELESS. The immigration agent here in NY sucked, well my case is about 9 months old and have received nothing but the NOA1 back in june adn nothing since, and thsi agent has teh audacity to tell me to be patient. how much patience do you want from me? all she said was "be patient" nothing about the case, zero, zap. To make matters worst the F$%# at ing B. had an attitude, some people were arguing and they ended up being escorted out, I certainly did not want to be one of them but I was not too far from snapping. This entire process is BS and it sucks.

utopiacowboy says on Apr 6, 2007, 05:14: If you don't get any satisfaction from the USCIS, talk to your representative and senators. Some of them have immigration liasons who do nothing but look into these kinds of things. They may be able to help. famsearch says on Apr 7, 2007, 05:51: i tried getting info through the liasons... yup, been there did that too, with both senators and our representative. they gave me the same info as the uscis, clarified parts of the process, and generally advised me to be patient. dan 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

famsearch says on Apr 7, 2007, 07:37: did some looking back... for us, our receipt date was 5/11/5, got the approval notice 1/6/6, and if i remember right, we got the visa after the interview around the end of august of 2006. be careful with the liasons, i got frustrated with the system with one, and he stopped returning my calls. dan 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

utopiacowboy says on Apr 7, 2007, 13:33: The liasons are not all created equal. Some of them don't do squat - others will rattle the cages of the bureaucratic monkeys working on these things. I went to one who worked for the Chairman of the House Committee on Immigration and believe me, ass got kicked hard.
