60 Day tourist visa???

I came to Bogota a couple of days ago. I planned on staying for about 90 days to work and take language classes, but the customs agent told me I couldn't get more than 60. How do I extend this? Gracias.

One month before your visa expires, go tu the DAS and aply for an extension, you will have to pay about $70.000 pesos, plus 2 photografs and fill up an aplication for an extension, do not let that pas because it takes about 2 weeks to get it....good luck I did the same with my dougther when we use to come as a turist

you might want to make that trip to DAS just 5 days before your tourist visa expires.

and as usually gringoloid is spot on with his comment.
Are you back from Medallo?

If you do not extend on time, the cost for the fine is $200.000 (COP) and 30 days to leave the country.

A few days before the 60 days are up, you extend your stay at the DAS. You might want to read this link: http://poorbuthappy.com/colombia/post/visa-extension-question-finally-...

It costs to extend you visa to 120 days as it does to 90. I aked for 90 days this time and they gave me 60.
Go to a DAS office, find out how much you have to pay what account in what bank, do it and return for your hand prints and photos. Oh, I think you need 2 passport sized photos to submit as well.

You might want to look at getting a student visa good for a year. Here's more info at http://www.visascolombia.com
