Looking for anyone who has good info about why she wants this amount of money.
I travel to Panama and Colombia quite a lot and have got quite close to a girl from Pereria( spelling)...she has never asked for money before and actually her behaviour and attitude does'nt seem to fit the usual girls that I bump into on my travels...
but ...
this trip in july I cannot get to Colombia ( too much to do in Panama) so I have invited her to meet me in Panama .
She says she needs $500 sent to her in order to be able to enter Panama ( on a previous trip she tells me she was refused entry).
now being the English miser I am and also with quite a few various central american scams behind me I hope someone here can tell me if request based on fact and whether there is anyway around sending cash e.g meet at airport......
Remember I said "quite close" I have learned from past times to tread very carefully and go slow with latinas.

She really needs to show the money and the reservation. $500 will get her about 3 weeks in Panama. Stop being a cheap ass limey and give her the money, just have her give it back to you when you meet her

Miguel_Clavo says on Jun 22, 2006, 19:53: She has to prove to the Panama immigration that she has money to return to Colombia, so the Panamanians dont have to pick up the tab if she becomes a "public charge". The only way around that if she is part of a tourist group, and can show that she has a prepaid return ticket, hotel reservations, etc. I have done the exact same thing about 4 times. If you dont trust her, dont send the money. I told her that she was carrying the hotel money, so if she didnt want to sleep in the steets, she better not lose it! jejeje... miamimike says on Jun 22, 2006, 23:31: I would Insist that as soon as you and her meet .. the Money immediately passes from her hands back into yours. All of it. Really, I don't go for this idea in the first place, seen to many scams pulled. As our Prez GW Bush says "Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on me again! LOL "Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas? ... That's interesting. I hadn't heard that." -- Feb. 28, 2008 --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., |

utopiacowboy says on Jun 23, 2006, 15:08: The Panamanians are tired of Colombianas coming there to "work". Guys tell me that Panama and Costa Rica are filled with hot Colombian working girls. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. |

Atrevido says on Jun 23, 2006, 17:03: Sorry but this sounds like a confidence game. Send the money and you'll never see her or it again. In any case it should be very easy for you to find out if there is really a requierment or not. If not on the web (it should be there) then call a Colombian travel agent.

Crazy4Cali says on Jun 23, 2006, 18:16: I like the hotel money idea MC had the right idea. Use the $500 as the hotel money. Si Usted no tiene plata, no tendremos Hotel. She sounds honest but, like Regan said, "Trust but verify."
