4th of July Parties

Hey there gringos!

I was wondering where the best 4th of July parties will be in Bogota. Do they do it the good ol' fashioned American way, with fireworks and corndogs and beer? Or will it be impossible to find any 4th of July celebrations here?

Thanks for your recommendations!

Check with the US Embassy, they usually hold parties for US Citizens, if you registered with them.

Ja Ja. Ay Huskie, a veces eres un caso.

Esanch, Te vas a "pegar la rodadita" este año? Mi suegra me regaño porque estuve en Bogota hace unos dias y no pase a San Pedro en Neiva.

Jijiji - I love the irony here - celebrating the United States' independence requires presenting a valid U.S. passport, not bringing backpacks, and submitting to security screening.

Certainly illustrates how far the U.S. has fallen from being a beacon of liberty.

My July 4th will be very special. I check into the VA Medical Center Miami on July 2 before 10 am. Left knee replacement that afternoon. Early the following day my rehab begins. Ouch! Then I get to celebrate on the fourth with more rehab, hopefully some good pain killers which should make the hospital food bearable! One less obsticle prior to moving to Santa Marta.
There's no place like home! God Bless America!

No I don't realistically expect them to let just anybody/thing inside the embassy.

But I do find the whole thing really funny - let's celebrate our independence (and by extension liberty, freedom, etc.) by showing valid identification and getting searched

Hola!

Can we go and get illegally searched or tortured while we visit the US embassy? LOL! We could always say we have liberal ideas, like social justice and not be allowed to work there at the Embassy!

Thank you, George W!
