112 Suspected Drug Cartel Members Arrested In Colombia

RTTNews) - Colombian authorities said Thursday that the countries security forces have arrested 112 suspected members of 'Los Rastrojos' drug gang, which is considered to be one of the country's most powerful drug cartels.

They said that the suspected 'Los Rastrojos' members were arrested after they surrendered in Choco province, near the border with Panama, following a major security operation involving army and naval units.

Colombia's Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos confirmed the arrests of the suspected members of the 'Los Rastrojos' gang, which is said to be one of the major players in the drug smuggling operations in southwestern Colombia.

The 'Los Rastrojos' cartel, which is headed by Luis Enrique Calle, has become a big threat to Colombia's security, forcing President Alvaro Uribe to declare the cartel as the main target of the country's anti-drug operations

Herr Tone Loc,

I see you got your anti-Colombia propaganda well organized. Did Byron Kostner share with you his chavista sources by any chance?

“1. They never let him check from an official organization (they said from Interpol but Interpol never made any statement)” NOT TRUE

“2. How can a laptop survive if they kill 20 guerilleros with their bombs? Everything would be damaged” MANY TERRORISTS SURVIVED THE BOMBING. HOW CAN THAT BE?

Foto: Fredy Amariles / Reuters
