1 way ticket from Colombia to US.....well kind of

Ok, I was told that going one way from Colombia to the US would raise alarms for some reason...not sure how valid this is? Here is my dilemma...I will be on vacation flying internationaly into Texas for a few days then off to mexico for about 10 days. I must remain out of the country (US)for tax purposes for a certain number of days which I am nearing, so I was going to fly from mexico directly to colombia and then when done colombia back to texas since that is where i have to fly back to work from since that ticket is paid for. should there be any concern doing it this way? or should i fly to mexico roundtrip to texas and then fly to medellin from texas roundtrip? i found a great deal on the multi trip flight and the latter method is much more expensive for me. any info would be appreciated. peace, beef27

if you've got nothing to hide.... then, I wouldn't worry about anything. You've got an itinerary. You have 'REASON' for doing it YOUR WAY. RIGHT? Okay, then. You've got nothing to hide, do what is the most efficient for the purpose you have.

If questioned about your flight schedule, explain pretty close to exactly why you have these specific arrangements. If you don't have anything to hide, then stop ... sweating. Chill.

Ignoring the expense aspect, it is no big deal to fly one way from Colombia to the US. People do it all the time. I have flown one way from Bogota to Miami. If any alarms go off, they are silent. When I flew one way, the ticket was slightly cheaper than a round trip ticket. I think I got lucky. If you shop around, you may be able to find a one way ticket cheaper. But normally, a round trip ticket is much less expensive than a one way. So, if you buy a round trip ticket, the whole point of the post and replies is moot.

cool well i'm buying a multi trip ticket seeing i will be flying from the US to Mexico to Colombia back to the US. I tried several ways to do it cheapest and this was by far the most cost efficient and actually the better flight schedule too. thanks!
