slodrew says on Apr 5, 2007, 12:37:

not to be trusted? I just got back from three weeks in Cali.. Arthur made the arrangements for my apartment and I have no complaints. I paypal'd him $350 up front and he could have just taken the money and run but everything was as it had been promised and very convenient for me.
I had never met Arthur before but I ended up hanging out with him nearly everyday and he actually saved me a bunch of money on the trip.. We were drinkin', smokin', straight west coastin' at his apartment with a different group of beautiful girls on a daily basis at a fraction of the cost of a night in the clubs.. I should have never come home..

don't hate, congratulate It's not easy to make a peso in Colombia.. from what I saw Arthur earns his commisions.. time is money and so are emails and fone calls.. should anybody do all that for free? how about you englishshyster? you sell furniture for free?

slodrew says on Apr 5, 2007, 20:05:

my spanish... my spanish is not very good. I can read the news paper and more or less understand what I am reading, I can write some, understand some that is spoken, and speak enough to just get by.. with the chicas it isn't really a problem.. Arthur is fearless and will approach the most beautiful women that can be found, often exchanging phone numbers with them and a remarkable number of these women will be drinkin', smokin', straight west coastin', as well as dancing salsa, at his apartment within a few days.. truly unbelievable after dealing with California's uptight women my whole life..

englishsettler says on Apr 6, 2007, 04:57:

And from what i have heard England is expensive,rainy/dreary,food sucks, women are unattractive.

And, who ever heard of 'english quisine'?

manINred says on Apr 6, 2007, 21:06:

That sums it up: you judge a country that you haven't even visited. Pathetic. As I said, if you are going to write insulting things about something you don't know anything about, go right off and fuck yourself.

"And from what i have heard England is expensive,rainy/dreary,food sucks, women are unattractive."

Where do you fucking people get off in playing up these stereotypes to the max? They're so outdated and it enrages me to read them over and over again. If i was to take the worst stereotypes of Colombia and pontificate about them (without having visited the counrty) people would rightly get pissed off. The women in London are some of the prettiest in the world. The summers are very nice, the winters are at least mild.

People have their different experiences in respective countries. Most people I know who have lived in England love it and would never leave. My family included.

packagegirl says on Apr 6, 2007, 21:13:

manlNred, Welcome to the world of PBH where almost everyone generalizes and everyone thinks they're always right.
One shouldn't judge a country having heard of it from very few people.
I have only ever heard good things about England and have marvellous friends from there, and I would love to visit England and get to know the place!!!!

goin_south says on Apr 6, 2007, 21:46:

Where you think they came up with the phrase: 'So ugly, she could stop Big Ben!' ???

They didn't come up with that statement in Beijing, or Bangkok, or Bogota! jejeee Man?inRed....(((it ENRAGES me to read them over and over again))) I guess you named yourself appropriately, then: ...Red!

Why the hell you going to Colombia, then? if the girls are so damn pretty in England. There's only one pretty girl in all of England, and she is a Colombiana ;)

y, un mil gracias.

manINred says on Apr 6, 2007, 22:01:

hahaha, el felizafortunado the red is actually for something else, and i'm not an angry guy, i'm one of the most pleasant people around actually (i think) and of course when i say i'm 'enraged', i guess a better description would be 'annoyed that i wasted my time reading shite written by an ignorant fool who has an interest to insult things he knows nothing about'. Enraged... no. But annoyed, well, obviously.

If i went around everywhere telling people that Colombia is a dangerous country where you'll be kidnapped, has rude ugly people and terrible food and is not worth going to, WITHOUT HAVING VISITED IT, but just going on the advice of 2 or 3 Colombians that perhaps didn't like living there for whatever reason, what would people think of me? I'd be considered an idiot, and it would be disrespectful to the people of Colombia. I love England, and of course it has downsides (most of which can be experienced on the chiltern rail from london victoria to slough) but to play them up and make them sound the norm? Idiotic and false. I should ignore it, but i can't, because people read this shit and believe it, and it's actually insulting.

I could do the same thing about the United States (for example). Take Cleveland... Not the prettiest city, but it sure as heck has a pretty cool rock and roll hall of fame, and some of the friendlist people around. I'd be an idiot and i would insult many U.S.A-ans if i took everything i hated about the states and used it to make the country sound dreadful. Same with Colombia. SAME WITH ENGLAND. It's worse, because ignorant git arthur bollocks hasn't taken the time to go the place he insults.

And why am I not in England? Well, I would LOVE to be at this point in time, except I am in Montreal. I will be going to Colombia because I really love it there, it is a beautiful country with many wonderful people, and I may be going to englaand again soon. It is possible to like more than one place, so I don't see why you'd ask me why i was going to colombia 'instead' of england.

manINred says on Apr 6, 2007, 22:03:

and by the way EVERY single one of my Canadian friends who has visited London (a couple of which are successfully signed with top modelling agencies in Toronto) have told me that London has the most attractive girls in the world. I still think perhaps Medellin does, that's just me, but jeez, some stereotypes just boggle the mind.

arthur brode says on Apr 6, 2007, 22:07:

http://www.calirentals.net/

manINred says on Apr 6, 2007, 22:11:

packagegirl says on Apr 6, 2007, 22:18:

manlNred... please don't waste your time here, like I told you before, here almost everyone generalizes and always thinks they are right. I understand the annoyance you feel because it is the same feeling I have felt when people here speak badly of colombia and its president

goin_south says on Apr 6, 2007, 22:21:

my answer would be that you would probably be GIB/G5/DG in disguise!!!! hahahaha....

all i have to say about England, or more specifically London, is that i had to wait in a London airport waiting room for 8 hours in between my flights to Russia, and DAMN you guys have some real ugly foreigners (non-UK types) in those waiting rooms!! and i was looking for a Scott Air pack so i could breathe some fresh air!!! hahaha...

ManINred I loved Montreal...I spent 6 weeks there in 2000. I was there over the summer, I thought it would be cold and miserable. Actually, it was blazing hot. I remember my first few days when every girl would look you in the eye and smile. Dumb me, I thought they were all into me, took me a couple of days to figure out that was just a cultural difference. I saw a few shows during the international jazz fest, and on Wednesdays they had the fireworks academy shows on St. Lawrence river, wow I had a blast their. I loved Montreal...almost as much as Colombia (close, but not quite). Probably for me, Colombia number one, then Greek islands, then Montreal.

englishsettler says on Apr 7, 2007, 03:00:

look, i can sit here and laugh at this man alot. He tries to rip off some poor colombiana girl for some furniture (he wants her to give it away, just because it suits him) and then, unsuprisingly, we discover he lives on a few pesos a month. Wow, great achievement, you have obviously been doing the right things in your life !!!
Thanks for all the advice.....i will stick to doing all right for myself in my shite country and when i next come there i will probably be your landlord !!!!!

Jay1234 That's great, the jazz fest is one of the greatest things happening in this town! Montreal summers are beautiful, but the same cannot be said about their winters. Cold as hell. It's a country of extremes. Hell, yesterday it was snowing and below 0, and two days ago there was a snowstorm!!!!! It's April supposedly. It just makes me want the 3.5 weeks before i'm in Colombia to go by quicker, agh! And yeah, the culture is great, and the women are friendly, if you stuck around here you'd get to know them. It's a nice city, but i just can't deal with the cold. Colombia and the tropics it is for me...

utopiacowboy says on Apr 7, 2007, 13:26:

OK, for the millionth time, here goes. Everybody who was born and raised in a certain place or has lived in a certain place for a long time gets attached to it. It could be a total shithole but it's their shithole. None of these people appreciate being told that "their place" is a shithole even if they know (in their rational mind) that it is a shithole. Sherman said that if he owned both Hell and Texas, he'd rent out Texas and live in Hell. I guess he thought it was a shithole. I like it but then again it's my shithole. As for England, well it's a shithole. Colombia, another shithole. Montreal, where I grew up, MAJOR shithole. Just kidding on that last one.
