CCHICKG says on Jan 26, 2005, 10:33: I am sending a box with clothes. Its probably weighs between 70-100 pounds but I am not sure exactly how much. I have looked at Fedex and UPS but they cost about $1000.000 I also found a Colombian Restaurant but they charge 2.50 per pound and even though that is not that bad I am worried that it will not be very safe and secure.

Chuck says on Jan 28, 2005, 22:32: Call Tampa Airlines in Miami They used to charge about $0.75 per pound from Miami to Bogota, Medellin and it comes as EQUIPAJE NO ACOMPAÑADO. You are the only one allowed by the customs to claim it. You cannot ship it to someone. Or you may... but then the receiving party has to do all the paperwork and pay duties and taxes which ain't worth it... unless you send a Picasso!

Cerealkiller says on Jan 28, 2005, 22:43: Dont know how it works in the states. However when I moved here I just took my boxes to the post office and that was it. It cost around 150 pounds per 23 kg Box. Sent them on Dec 22 and they got here on Jan 10th, not too bad and I didnt have to pick it up anywhere, it was delivered to my door and I had to pay no taxes because they were personal effects. ARMacleod says on Jan 28, 2005, 23:17: C-K..Post Office? Please confirm, were you speaking about UK to Colombia, I assume so so since you mentioned pounds. £GB, yes? If you were that will save me a whole mess of bother, time and money. The brain is like a parachute, it only functions correctly when it is open. Pax vobiscum. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

miamimike says on Jan 28, 2005, 23:45: Servientrega I have used this company for like shipments. They have an office here in Miami-don't know if they are in your area. The web address is:Http://www.servientrega.com "Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas? That's interesting. I hadn't heard that." -- Feb. 28, 2008 --George W. Cerealkiller says on Jan 29, 2005, 07:57: JamesVH Yes, I was referring to shipping stuff from the UK. I think its even cheaper if you dont buy insurance but Im not sure Id reccomend that, its only an extra 25-30 pounds...thats like 10 pints...Ok yeah, maybe not buying insurance is always an option. ARMacleod says on Jan 29, 2005, 14:35: Ah, Dear Lady CK. I am beside myself. I am mortified at my complete and unpardonable indiscretion.
