age

I thought in Colombia the age of people isn't that important. Well, I always shave 7 years off my age. However, tonight the $%&& hit the fan when my girlfriend found out. I never really lied to her. I told her to guess and she guess 7 years younger. All I said was I'll take that. Man she is freaking out. I am running out of women. What can I say to her to chill her out.

Gringo Shooting on Friday

I am posting this under a newbie account because I do not want to reveal my identity. When you read my post you will understand why I am not going to say who I am. I assure you though this post is 100% serious and not a troll. I have heard from someone who I completely trust that on Friday night a former member of this board shot and killed two would be Colombian bandits. I am not 100% sure if the shooting was in Medellin or Envigado but I know the individual lives in Poblado. It would se ...

Bill´s Wristband

In this week´s (May 5, 2008) international edition of NEWSWEEK magazine there is an article about and black and white photo of Bill Clinton. The photo shows him in a presidential suit but also clearly shows him wearing a woven cloth wrist band. Being black and white of course you can´t see the colors but I wonder if this is the band he was given in Cartegena so many years ago and he is still wearing it.

zip lines near Armenia?

Hi, I am heading down to Colombia this summer and I am looking for the location of some zip lines near Armenia. I believe they are out of Montenegro and I have read a couple of blogs talking about them but I can't find the actual company name or the exact place they are out of for certain. I would really appreciate if someone could give me this information as I plan to head that way straight from Bogota. I am not so hot with these sites ( I just signed on) and don't know where to look for respo ...

When will there ever be direct Miami San Anndres service?

All this talk of free trade between the US and Colombia.....yet I never hear of either American, Avianca, Copa Aerorepublica, etc starting direct air service between Miami and San Andres Island. At least 3 times a week from Nov 1 to May 1. Colombians are good at business but not when it comes to SAI. Canadians know of SAI but Americans do not. A little marketing on the part of Uribe and government and SAI could increase its tourism but the Bogota connection has got to go away. Ask most A ...

I-129F / G-325A questions

I've been traveling to Colombia for 2 years now, but am now just starting the K-1 process for my girlfriend. I have a few questions about the initial paperwork for the petition....some of it I could probably find if I seached this sight or VJ, but I think that at least one of my questions might be original enough to make posting my questions worthwhile. 1. When the forms ask for "Family Name", do I use both last names, or should I just use her Father's last name? 2. I-129F Part B #9: What ...

TRIP REPORT...(yes,another).............Los Lomas Finca Hotel

It's only 45 minutes from Medellin to the Los Lomas Finca Hotel, but it took all day for us to get there. A couple of weeks ago, the two dogs, myself and " herself " headed off bright and early. The trusty Moto, once again, being the mode of transport. This hotel is located just outside of La Ceja, on the road to La Union. There are several ways to get there. I chose the long way, up in the direction of St Elena, a beautifull area up the hills, just outside Medellin. There is a really nice N ...
