chontaduro comments on hailstorm in Bogota

Just saw on earlier post on this topic. Sorry I didn't see it before, but glad to know that Mr. and Mrs. Gator weathered the storm OK. On the subject of keeping warm and dry, are space heaters easy to find and reasonably priced in Bogota or should I bring one from the US?

chontaduro comments on valor administracion

Hey folks, thanks for the explanations. Just want to get an idea of what my monthly expenses might be. Yeah, there's something poetic about buying a one way ticket (to anywhere). Well, I'll be leaving Miami behind, with no doubts, and no regrets. I'll be arriving with a work visa, so I don't anticipate any trouble with DAS. I'll let you know if anything comes up. I hope to stay in Bogota for a while, maybe forever...

chontaduro comments on shipping a car to Bogota from the US

Thanks everyone for your quick responses, and thanks for pointing me to the search engine, Robert. I had no idea that importing used cars is illegal! Well, I definitely won't be buying a new car in the US just to be able to ship it. I'd certainly consider buying a used car in Bogota, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it (and I'll be sure to read some other people's experiences). This forum is a great resource and I'm glad to have found it.
