Cheers Terry comments on Bull fighting in Colombia?

Buongone, absolutely! What would be the point otherwise? I'm on a two beer limit though, after that I never leave the stands. I'm not as fast as I used to be... Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Bull fighting in Colombia?

Juepaje, I'll be at the Sincelejo coraleja in January. It's one of the craziest, insane and (most importantly) fun spectacles I've ever been to. What a gas! Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on A nation is obsessed as Miss Colombia beauty pageant comes to a big end

The article is useless without lots of close-up photos so readers can judge for themselves whether she's a bubble butt... Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on How low will he go? Obama gives Japan's Emperor Akihito a wow bow

"... After all, his on japanese soil right?..." ================================================================= That has nothing to do with proper protocol. The bow was way, WAY too low. It's a big deal in Japan and making news there. The older generation especially are cracking up. Obama is not worthy and he admits it. Cheers, Terry

Clarity is fine Brian, looks good! Nice job. Now, if you can move the camera down to the beach, that would be perfect... ;-) Cheers, Terry

So... let's take a look at your pathetic "betting" history, Darloup... 1.) In your original "$100 Bet" thread regarding your imaginary "Clique" you lost so badly that if you had paid-up you would have been thousands of dollars in the hole. Thankfully you were able to get that thread deleted, thus saving you (yet again) from further embarrassment and mocking. 2.) Then you immediately lost another $10 bet to me when you went down in flames claiming that I've never contributed any constructive travel advice to this forum. Once again the thread was deleted and once again you never paid up. Now, you want to make yet another meaningless bet that you have no intention of honouring even though you've already lost, again. The last time you attacked me was only a couple of days ago when by your almighty judgment I was not allowed to ask Lisa who took the photos she posted. You hounded me for several posts, like the disingenuous poster that you are. So, where's the $100 this time? Start backpedaling... yawn... Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on ♥ Show this video to your friends ♥

Holy cow alezzz, you have NO idea what a blast from the past those video clips are! I met those two crazy guys and hung out with them for a bit. We had a riot. Here we are at Pablo Escobar's grave, interviewing the caretaker: Photobucket Here we are at the soccer match that's in the first clip. Photobucket Thanks so much for posting these clips. I haven't talked to either of them in a long time and this is a great reminder to get back in touch. Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on I want to be a Moderator!

Greg, don't let them get you down. So you never really read posts, big deal. So you never reply to a direct question, big deal. Your Darloupie pretzel logic IQ is staggering though, and that's all that matters. Thumbs up, big guy... Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Exchange US Dollars per COL Pesos

If you need $500 USD per day exchanged into COP then you're not a tourist and you needed to research this better before you arrived. There are other options. All foreign cash - US Dollars included - sucks in Colombia. Good luck, but I fear you're going to have to take a big hit in order to get rid of your cash... Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Third Chocó trip

Wow. Great report, elchocoano. Thanks for taking the timer to post. Very interesting. Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on I want to be a Moderator!

Whatever you're drinking Greg, order me two cases. Thanks. Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Exchange US Dollars per COL Pesos

Colombia is awash in drug money. They're trying to get rid of their cash, not buy more. The only thing worse than cash is traveller's cheques, they're even more of a hassle. ATM is by far the best way for a tourist to handle their finances. Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on What Do You Hate About Colombia?

span_colombia, I deleted the gringo worship comment from my post above. That's a subject that requires its own thread. For me, right now, it's the infantile banking system. It overshadows everything. Cubans kicking your ass?!?! How embarrassing!!! Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on What Do You Hate About Colombia?

Only one serious thing for me... The banks. Colombia will always be a joke on the international scene until they fix their mess of a banking system. When idiotic, backward Cuba's banking system kicks your ass you know you're a loser. Colombia is a loser. I suspect even Simon will agree. Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on

Wow, I've never seen anyone self-destruct quite this dramatically on the Internet before. Darloup, you're one of a kind. Cheers, Terry By the way, just a small reminder, the $10 I won from you earlier in this thread (when I taught you how Internet forums share information) can be donated to any charity that Brian chooses. Thanks.

Cheers Terry comments on

Glad I was able to educate you how a forum works, Darloup. You should have asked when you first joined. Lots of people here would have been happy to help you. Now, go get a map and find Capurgana, Niqui and Bahia Solano. Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on

"... Nice contest. I'll personally award $10 (or even more) to Cheers Terry when, within a week, he can show us that he started a constructive thread on PBH within the last 5 months. Let's be generous: ANY new thread (constructive or not) within the last 5 months..." ======================================================= As usual Darloup, you're being disingenuous to the max. Pathetically so. 1.) Starting new threads isn't a measure of one's worth - you yourself have started countless threads over nothing but useless drivel. 2.) As member's worth is measured by their positive contributions to helping other members be more informed about Colombia. Can't you understand the difference? For example, earlier this week I helped bickerss out with with his questions regarding Capurgana, Niqui and Bahia Solano - places that don't get too many tourists so my experience there was helpful. You should go look them up on a map and read my comments so you know a little more too. So, do you finally understand how a forum works? Cheers, Terry PS Please donate the $10 I won to a charity of Brian's choice. Thanks.

Cheers Terry comments on Beautiful images of Colombia.

Darloup, even for you that's a pathetic comeback. My point was simple and straightforward; you simply sound desperately pedantic. Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on

My two centavos... It's hilarious as a stand alone comment, however... when read in context of the thread it's simply pathetically embarrassing. So... unfortunately my vote would go for you still keeping your $10, Pedro. Sorry apeters, it was a great try though... Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Beautiful images of Colombia.

Darloup, stop being such an ass and (as usual) desperately trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. Just because you're embarrassed from shooting yourself in the foot with your recent pathetic posts about "The Clique" doesn't give you the right to try and take an unwarranted cheap shot. It's common curiosity to link to articles that are cut & pasted from another author and the same etiquette applies to photographs - it's nice to know the source, IF possible. It was a simple question, no big deal. Grow up. Cheers, Terry Lisa, thanks for taking the time to post the photos, they're lovely.

Pedro, you sly dog. You know you'll never have to pay-up on that bet! Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Big Problems with Citibank Colombia

Colombia will always be a 3rd world - sorry, "developing" - country until they get their heads out of their asses regarding banking. How embarrassing that the banks in truly backward Cuba are MUCH more efficient and professional - and they do it without high speed Internet! Good luck getting your situation resolved. Cheers, Terry

"... I have spoke to Darloup and he said he does want to get pulled into this any further..." ========================================================================== I'm not surprised. Even he must be embarrassed at how badly this backfired on him. He should be ashamed of himself. Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on

Brian, your child-like naivete and hopeful innocence is touching. I sincerely hope that the ugliness of yet again witnessing no principles and no moral backbone doesn't too badly tarnish your hope for a better world... Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on

"... No wonder the original poster won't respond to you about $100!..." ======================================================= Greg, I love it when you're hilarious without meaning to be. You don't have a clue what you just said. Honestly, think about it. Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Good cigars...

I smoke the occasional Cuban stogie and EVERY time I do - especially in a big city like Bogota or Medellin - I have guys coming up to me asking what kind it is, where did I get it, how much did it cost, etc. These cigars get me a LOT of attention. After one very high-placed government official was of incalculable assistance to us and he always expressed delight multiple times when I gave him a single stogie I went ahead and brought him a small humidor with a modest selection of Cubans. He has never stopped thanking me since. I think he'd give me the keys to the city if I asked. It's almost embarrassing, literally. Maybe the yuppie cigar "hip" factor of the '90's never hit Colombia and since they've never been a big deal there this results in them being such an object of curiosity and interest? Is it because they're so expensive and obviously a purely luxury item that the status symbol aspects turns them on? Perhaps this could be a lucrative niche market for an importer to make a little money... Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Medellin - Furnished Room Rental in El Poblado

$675 USD/month for a room. No offense, but I just don't get it... Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Johnny and his banking tips

Colombia will always be a 3rd world - sorry, "developing" - country until they get their heads out of their asses regarding banking. How embarrassing that the banks in truly backward Cuba are more efficient and professional - and they do it without high speed Internet! Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Capurgana

Darloup has wimped out on his own challenge, knowing full well that most of his mystery "clique" members have imparted VASTLY more solid, accurate info than he ever has. He'd be in debt for thousands if he actually kept his word and went through with his so-called "challenge." Sorry about the thread-jack, bickerss. Anything else you want to know, ask away... Cheers, Terry By the way, I'll be sailing from Panama to Sapzurro in mid January if anyone wants to meet-up for a ride back to Panama...

Cheers Terry comments on Medellin Meet Up in November

I'm definitely a douchebag, so count me in. I'd be honoured to buy elSapo rounds until he pukes. Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Capurgana

If you speak Spanish and want to go waaaay off the beaten path with very few other tourists and (of course) no nightlife but spectacular scenery and endless nature all around you then go to the Pacific coast and do Nuqui and/or Bahia Solano. (Nuqui is nicer, sort of.) You must like the African side of Colombia and almost complete isolation. I think you'd want to pick a good time of year though, perhaps when the whales are calving or when the sea turtles are laying their eggs. Capurgana is much more of a tourist town, but because of it's location it's obviously not overrun with gringos yet and it's easy to escape into the nature there too. It's a nice hike through the jungle to the wee hamlet of Sapzurro which is right on the Panama border. From Sapzurro I hiked into Panama, had a beer with some fishermen then walked back to Sapzurro. That was kind of neat but the cop in Sapzurro was a little pissed off at me... ;-) Cheers, Terry I hope giving out more travel info like this doesn't make Darloup even more pissed off... LOL http://poorbuthappy.com/aboutpbh/post/win-100-usd/

Cheers Terry comments on

The OPer is asking about a 3 - 5 day cruise, originating in Cartagena or Santa Marta. That means the US can't be one of the destinations. It's too far away. Cheers, Terry

Cheers Terry comments on Capurgana

No problems. That route has been firmly on the gringo trail for a few years now. Capurgana and the surrounding area is really nice, and continuing up the coast is an interesting alternate route to get into Panama. Cheers, Terry PS Bring a big garbage bag or something to protect your luggage - if the sea is rough then you'll get wet. Also, the seat in the boat can smash your ass black and blue - bring something soft to sit on.
