carolva77 comments on Colombian's life not worth much in the US When you choose to be a robber you do so assuming the risk of getting shot by the police, the home owner, or some vigilante. Call it hazards of the field. thanks, i agree with you. Crime does not pay, specially in the South

carolva77 comments on Colombian's life not worth much in the US I dont know if legally the fact that these 2 colombians were here illegally has any weight, but with the political climate in the US against illegals, I would not rob a house if I were one

carolva77 comments on Colombian's life not worth much in the US morphus, that happened in Richmond last new years eve, 4people killed. If they get into my house, our friend the 45 will greet them accordingly

carolva77 comments on Colombian's life not worth much in the US webmanco you know, you are right, but that is their law. Texans like it like that and whereever you go you got to obey the rule of law. Trust me I dont have anything against illegal aliens, I have plenty of friends that are illegal aliens. I have seen the human side of the immigration. However I do not have any sympathy for robbers or people that invade houses to take stuff that is not theirs. And if they are in the country illegally, oh well. They got what they were looking for. In the US you still can work hard and buy food, there is not need to go on commiting felonies for money
carolva77 comments on Colombian's life not worth much in the US It does not make it right, but in texas you get the death penalty very easily. They are very death penalty and gun happy. The situation in the US is very hard right now for illegal aliens. Non Criminal illegal aliens of all nationalities are being stopped by law enforcement just for speeding. I dont think they care for illegal aliens and on top of it , robbers. Just saying, it might not be right, it is the reality of the US right now.

carolva77 comments on Colombian's life not worth much in the US tejasmarcos, I believe that if you see a situation as a citize where you believe the use of force would mean save someone's life [even property] I think you do not have the "intent" to kill that person. I saw that guy who shoot the robbers on FOX and I think he was probably not right, but he thought it was his onlyway to stop a potential robbery or worst. This is not a good moment to be an illegal alien robbing citizens in texas, just saying
carolva77 comments on Colombian's life not worth much in the US well they were in the country illegally. that is a fact.
carolva77 comments on Colombian's life not worth much in the US tasco, In Virginia if you get into my house uninvited and I shoot you, there would not be any indictment. I would be using my right to self defense. There is a lot of guns in the South.
carolva77 comments on Colombian's life not worth much in the US Please, if you get in my house or my neighborhs house and I have a gun, trust me I have all the right to shoot you; and those colombians were here ILLEGALLY, they should not be in the country, let alone robbing people.

carolva77 comments on Honestly, so many years in the US make me grown thick skin; I dont give a f.u.ck what people calls me as long as my check is signed, I do not care. There is so many terms in the world for denigrating people and at the end, we are all humans. And we are all going to end up in the same place. the panteon So para que amargarse por estupideces

carolva77 comments on While the exact origin of the word isn't known, some Latin Americans in the United States believe that some of the Ethnic groups referred to Hispanic Americans using the word as play on their accented pronunciation of the English word "speak" (as in "No spic English").[2][3][4] It may also derive from "spig", which was originally used to refer to Italians, in turn from "spiggoty" (sometimes spelled "spiggity", "spigotti", or "spigoty") which may derive from "spaghetti" or "no spika de Ingles".[5] The oldest known use of "spiggoty" is in 1910 by Wilbur Lawton in Boy Aviators in Nicaragua, or, In League with the Insurgents, page 331. Stuart Berg Flexner in I hear America Talking (1976), favored the explanation that it derives from "no spik Ingles" (or "no spika de Ingles").[1]. These theories follow standard naming practices, which include attacking people according to the foods they eat (see Kraut and Frog) and for their failure to speak a language (see Barbarian and Gringo). A popular but false theory is that the word "spic" derives from the shortening of the word "Hispanic".[1] A slur derived from "spic" is "spic and span" (first used in the African-American community in the 1950s) meaning a mixed Puerto Rican and African-American couple.[6] The phrase had legitimate currency at the time as the name of a cleaning product, "Spic and Span", before it was applied to mixed-heritage couples. This product is still sold under the same name.[7] The product took the name from a common phrase meaning extremely clean, "spick and span", which was a British idiom first recorded in 1579, and used in Samuel Pepys's diary. A spick was a spike or nail, a span was a very fresh wood chip, and thus the phrase meant clean and neat and all in place, as in being nailed down. The "span" in the idiom also is part of "brand span new", now more commonly rendered "brand spanking new", and has nothing to do with the words "Spanish" or "Hispanic".[1][5]

carolva77 comments on yeah, what is so wrong with mexicans, puertoricans etc? Not that I particulary care, but colombia is in LatinAmerica, therefore colombians are latinos. If you dont consider yourself one, well more power to you then

carolva77 comments on ummmm I am colombian, I live in the States for 8 years and I am hispanic, because 1. I come from HispanicAmerica or LatinAmerica 2. My birth lenguage is spanish I dont think being hispanic or latin in the states is better or worst than being irish, african american or asian. It is an etnicity. It is what it is.

carolva77 comments on The gringonazation of our youth in the interior of Colombia I think that deppends on how the parents raise their kids. In the States, a lot of immigrant kids share a big deal of the "culture" of their parents. It is up to the parents to enforce rules; here or in Colombia, you got to spend time parenting your kids. You got to be on top of your kids. Bad parenting , here and there and kids loose cultural ties to their parents.

carolva77 comments on U.S. citizenship process - exceptions? I think the only exceptions you will find is if you are serving overseas for the military. If she has been in Colombia since 2005 she is going to need a reentry permit [as far as I know you lose your GC if you stay out of the country for more than 2 years and do not apply for one] I will get a lawyer in the US and find out. I don't think you can apply to US Citizenship unless you have the continuos residence requirment

Kat1 I understand why you dont want to recommend people. My husband and I are thinking about having kids and as much as I love to have my own nanny, I dont think we'll go that way. Why? it is very hard to find a relieable person, who wont get bored. Or home sick and will leave us with the baby one dy because she misses her family. Besides, you have to give this person room and board, you have to pay for plain tickets, visa processing, and besides that at least $200 a week. If this person comes as a visitor, we wont be able to take advantage of any tax breaks associated with Day Care [given, she wont have a SSN]. And what happens if she gest sad, bored, homesick etc, and she wants to leave? What happens is you have to start from scratch and look for a new daycare arrengement. What happens if she talks to other people and feel "It is too little money" or she feels she is doing you a favor? You are at the mercy of the nanny. And it is impossible to not have day care here in the States at least for me, so it is a lot of things to consider.

SICK SICK SICK file a complain, maybe you can get the Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar involved (social services) That can not be good for your daughter.
