carolain11 comments on best beaches in colombia You're missing so many nice beaches, you really have to know the country well because only in one section of Parque Tayrona there's around 35 beaches....how about el golfo de Morrosquillo and archipielago de San Bernardo off the coast of Sucre and Cordoba?
|
|
carolain11 comments on Colombian Islands why don't you try a trip to parque tayrona, from there you can go to islas del rosario, and then the islands in the golfo de morrosquillo? Those are paradisiac places. Or yoiu can go to Nuqui, Bahia malaga, Gorgona and Malpelo in the pacific coast.

carolain11 comments on Education in Barranquilla all of those are pretty good schools, but she's sponsoring a girl, and the ones named above are only boys schools, except for san jose, aleman, sagrada familia and americano. I highly recommend the german school, it is a very good school, i don't know how expensive it is right now, but i attended there when i was little, and it wasn't son expensive.

carolain11 comments on My Indigenous Roots around the area of santa marta, riohacha and valledupar almost everything has an indigenous name, and it doesn't seem like they're ashamed of it, on the contrary, guajiros in general are very proud of their wayuu ancestors. in santa marta you can find buildings and hotels named iroka, nabusimake, posihueica, maratea, zuana, zuca, tamacá, yuldama, tucurinca, irotama, karimar, mendihuaca, towns named gaira, minca, taganga, in atlantico there are towns called galerazamba, tubara, malambo, usiacuri, etc, etc. I do know that some people feel embarrassed of having indigenous roots, others don't care about it and some feel proud of it. In my case, I do not really know how identified I should feel with the colombian indigenous tribes, since my father is 100% arab, my mother is santandereana, but comes from a spanish background ( now don't misundertand i'm not saying this like being proud of not having any indian blood, i'm just exposing a fact), so i'm not sure if i have any indian roots at all, i probably must have, since one of my mother's aunts is dark-skinned, but one thing is for sure, i feel 100%colombian!!

carolain11 comments on EARTHQUAKE! yeah i felt it last night, imagine, i live in the 18th floor, i was feeling pretty anxious last night, first i heard the story about the three soldiers killed by lightning, then i felt the earthquake for a reaaaally long time, then i saw these weird flashes of lightning outside my window ( from which by the way you get a spectacular view of the west and el campin), i kinda thought the end was near.

carolain11 comments on Has anyone seen this Colombian film? Do you recommend it? UC do you really think that us witty and clever and "vivos" colombians hadn't thought of making colombian porn before you came up with the idea?? those movies you can find downtown, or in san andresito here in bogota they're called something like "chicas calientes en girardot" the series extends to cali, san andres and i think cartagena.

carolain11 comments on Do you have a dream? my dream is a lot easier to achieve than yours (or at least so I think), I'd love to go to Sta Marta and Bucaramanga in December, spend time with some of my relatives, remember old times, nicer times, when I was a kid and had all the fun in the world just by going to el rodadero, the real one, the sandy one, have some of the wonderful arab food that pablita makes, go to minca perhaps, have an "asado" with chivo, simple things that I haven't been able to do in such a long time. that's my dream for now.

carolain11 comments on Anyone interested in a meetup tonight at Lotus Club (Bogota)? it'd be nice to join you, but i'm thinking i won't be allowed in, since it's a "men only" type of club, you see, the the thing is, the owner of theatron owns lotus as well, and his idea with that bar was to make it a little more exclusive for gay men...

carolain11 comments on WHAT ARE THE MOST POPULAR NOVELAS IN COLOMBIA RIGHT NOW? to antioqueñita and elche.... I'm not sure I watched that one "amarte es mi pecado" but about 7 or 8 years ago, I had el canal de las estrellas and univision, and boy let me tell you, I spent a lot of time watching those!!! alguna vez tendremos alas, la mentira, camila, amada enemiga, girasoles para lucia, soñadoras, amigas y rivales, I could go on forever... by that tiem i was a teenager and it harmed my social life, still trying to get back on my feet... and to elcheamericano, the guy who played pedro, miguel varoni, doesn't really wear a mullet, that was filmed about 5 years ago, and the reason he had it is because, as well as in the U.S, people from lower social strata and little education think of it as a status symbol... he was just playing a part, I actually think he's pretty handsome, and he's been acting forever, he's what we call here a "galan"
|
|
carolain11 comments on WHAT ARE THE MOST POPULAR NOVELAS IN COLOMBIA RIGHT NOW? novelas in rcn, there's los reyes, which is a version of an argentinian one, very funny, great actors, same ol' story about the poor gone rich, but it's very entertaining and not very melodramatic... much to my dismay I must admit I'm a huge novelas fan, and have watched most of them, they're a vital part of my life... you can check the websites of caracol and rcn to find out which novelas are on right now... I'm really hooked on them and now am trying to break free from the slavery...
