Hi, I want to travel to Colombia by cargo-boat. I'm in Portugal (or close to spain). I want to travel with a lot of things (books, two bikes, computer).

I want to know if is possible to travel in cargo-boat.

Book Barichara is a nice place to visit, but you have to book hotels and transportation. Christmas is a hard time (in all the world) to travel.

To Barichara, I recomend you to travel by "Berlinas del Fonce" (trasnport company) from Bogota-Sangil-Bogota (travel time 6:30hrs), and from Sangil to Barichara another bus. Allways try to buy the round trip.

Barichara and Villa de Leyva are very nice towns and very simillar. Villa de Leyva is three hrs. away from Bogota.

Barichara and Villa de Leyva are safe places. I don´t recommend San Agustin yet.

neighborhood near the Embassy is not the greatest Well, what do you mean when say greatest? I think that this neighborhood is safe, that is important. If you change your mind,
Hotels close to the embassy:
- Hotel QP (almost free)
- Hotel de la Feria
- Four Points Hotel by Sheraton
- Hotel la Embajada.

Some times, the cost of the transport is more than the cost of the goods; is better to send the money.

Punta Larga & Carrefour In Boyaca, you can buy the best Colombian Wine from Punta Larga Cave, (from us$5 up to us$400 for 1l), but Carrefour has the best selection of normal wines: chilean, colombian and French wines (Moët & Chandon included-which not is normal).
