learn from experience... got a great colombiana horror story for ya. but i prefer not to air my private life for all the world/pbh board to see. in summation: think with your big head, not the little one. even then you're looking at less than a 50% success rate. heed this advice, make sure she is blessed with common sense, intelligent, educated, can drive, has employment experience, is somewhat extroverted and definitely independent. otherwise, you will have her up your as* 24/7 and 365. gets really old, really quick. even when i took all these steps to help ensure success, my ex's brain mysteriously disappeared when we got off the plane. never found it again, despite some exhaustive searching. seriously though, the time proven adage of taking your time in regards to romance and colombianas, is the same for any woman in any relationship you're pursuing. lastly, do the spousal visa. screw the fiancee visa. with the fiancee visa she is stuck staring at the walls until the moronic u.s. federal and state governments process the paperwork necessary for a ssn, driver's license, work permit, green card, etc. at least if you bring her here with a spousal visa, she is permitted to come and go within her home in colombia and the u.s. and a fiancee visa does not freely permit this. anyone would lose it if they were forced to do nothing for several months watching telenovelas. no use in making her sit around the house during paperwork downtime, when she could take periodic trips back home with a spousal visa to visit family and ease through the separation anxiety. both parties will be happier in the long run.
