Like I said, Copa required my novia to get the shot last Holidays. Period. You can read through the lines anyway you want. But if I heard someone say that, and my friend was traveling to Panama, or traveling to Panama on COPA. I would diffently check into it. Beats getting stood-up at the airport by the airline. She told me that when we made our reservations, and Copa told me that American travelers don't need it. As explained above by usagringo.

Don't put all the eggs in the basket at one time. If you deposit/exchange it all now. The exchange might just go crazy. Then you would be kicking yourself in the a-s. Where as if the dollar drops, you would be ahead of the game. If it was me I would do some now. Some next week, every week until the election. That way you could cost average at least for a month.

This topic has been discussed before. Do a search. I went to Panama last Holidays for 3 weeks. I flew Mexicana, going south. I did not need no shot. My novia came over from Cali, on Copa. She needed the shot, a police report, and $500.00 for her entry. Like I said, it's all been discussed before.

Rental cars are very expensive on San Andres. Over $100 a day. Be prepared. There is only about 2 duds that rent cars. Motor scooters would be cheaper. But the have a lot of thunder storms. Showers a lot. Off and on.

Yea, I understand that in his native language he is eloquent. He seemed more comfortable when he was, as it looked like he was going to answer in Spanish. Then he caught himself. Guess it's only natural. Yes, he was dancing around the question, with his 3 main reasons. Did you get that where he would say nothing bad about Chavez. Sloop, Is that the mall across the street from the Radisson? That is a huge mall. About 4 stories tall. Got some excellent buys after X-mas. Don't know about now tho. A Outboard motor might be a hard one to get. You could probably find one. But getting it back is another story. Shipping as cargo on an Airline, you need a shippers certification. Without one you are kind of screwed. You would have to pay a very large sum to have a shipping forwarder to do it for you. As for the clothes. Just either take some empty suitcases, or buy them. Fill them up and bring them back as luggage. Watch out for black-outs. That is they will not let you bring more than 2 apiece. Mexicana got me last X-mas going to Cali, via Panama City. Frigging Goat Rope. Expensive too. The cheapest forwarder is UPS. Maybe Servienga. Don't know. But it's spendy. lol

I had some money sent on Xoom. Just last week They only honored 2004 pesos. What is it today? A week later. See what I'm saying. Good Luck.

If it's your 1st let me suggest you read up on things to do a bit. Get in with a good cab driver. Ask questions. Talk to the people at the front desk. 1st time I went there, I had little pieces of paper, cut in squares. I would talk with the concierge at the Inter. Figure out where I wanted to go. Write down the address on one of the little squares. Show it to the cab driver. Find out if he knows directions and how much is the cab fare. Most were not over $4-5. Make sure you have your own address in a couple of different spots, on you. Carry your money in your front pocket.I had connections with 2 different women I met on the internet. Met a whole bunch more down there in a short time. Had a blast. Try the horseback riding out in south Cali. You go in groups of like 10 people. There is a point in the ride where you are going down the river. Get them running real fast. Water going everywhere. Good ride. Took a chiva bus around town. Ended up dancing at some nightclub with the ladies I was with. (Thats where the Chiva ends it's ride) I think as a single you need to meet somebody that wants to have some fun. Let them show you the ropes. Of course there are people on here that can tell you more about Cali than I can. People that live there. Enjoy and have fun. lol !!

When my mother died in Calif. a few yrs ago. Before she died she said she wanted to be buried at sea in Cabo San Lucas. Out in front of a couple of timeshares we owned. So when the time comes for me to go from Alaska to Cabo comes up. (With a stop in San Francisco ), to pick up my mothers ashes from my brother. I find out that to do that you need a certificate of death. (Something like proff that the ashes are disease free), in my name. So when I get to SFO, and pick up the ashes the paperwork was actually in my Brothers name. I said I'm taking her anyway. When I get the green light at immigration in Mexico, I says. Yea baby. Actually I was smuggling a dead persons remains into Mexico. Is all I thought about before the green light was what they would do if the knew I was not my Bros. Now they can be asses at customs/immigration. Maybe if they found out they would hold her ashes for Ranson. Is there any paperwork you need before transporting a persons ashes from Colombia to the US. My guess is YES ! You might want to check this out. Anyone out there know the Answe to that question! Thanks
