britz30 comments on San Gil....

I want to go for a few days of my honeymoon, not to get lucky with some strangers.... I know there is white water rafting and other things, I just want a nice place to stay, nothing dumpy.......

britz30 comments on A Bucaramanga English-Speaking Cafe!

LA_MONA yes we are getting married... We actually have rented a nice farm house in Piedcuestra.... October 13 is only a few weeks away.... Thank you for your kind words of advice before!

britz30 comments on A Bucaramanga English-Speaking Cafe!

Thanks! I am getting married in Bucarmanga on 10/13 and was there a few weeks ago.... Do you know the name of it? I know where the Cabacera Hotel and Biggers Pizza is.. Is it near there? Thanks!

britz30 comments on Middle class Colombians and their great love for all that’s American.

Elmo what do you guys do for fun in NYC?

britz30 comments on Urgent help needed!

I know I have trouble calling my fiancee too. I will call and it will have this weird ring to it and just ring and ring and ring or sometimes go directly to voice mail. When it rains down there sometimes the signal is bad...

britz30 comments on Marrying In Colombia

I am getting married in October and found a farm house outside of Bucaramanga and EVERYTHING is included, food, tables, coverings for chairs/tables, flowers (roses), tuxedo, three houses and one chalet, car, alcohol, cake, someone comes and does my makeup and hair... It is only costing $1,500 USD and this is for three days and for 25 people. I saw the place and it is beautiful with a pool, sauna, jacuzzi, outdoor fire pit, spiral staircase in the chalet (honeymooners stay here). The only thing that stinks IS the paperwork involved, everything has to be translated and inventoried (property ownership here in USA and kids information) and Apostilled ($20 USD per page to have done). But Colombia is so beautiful, I am glad I am getting married there; it is so exotic and different. You will always remember it. Good luck!

britz30 comments on FAVORITE COLOMBIAN FOOD, THE BEST AND THE WORST

What is mango biche? I love areapas.... I thought that fried piece of pork skin in oil until it was very hard and crunchy was vile......

britz30 comments on CARRY YOUR STATUS WITH YOU

I don't mean to sound niave, but... How do you know what social standing someone is in? Do you ask them, do you know by the way they talk, dress, walk? Please enlighten me. Thanks!

britz30 comments on Wayuu country

Elmo, you have me hooked... I love reading your responses and posts... Thanks!

britz30 comments on Another post about visa

John, did you flie yourself or have an attorney help you? If you used an attorney was it expensive?

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

LOL, thanks gringolondinense... You are too good to me! :)

britz30 comments on Another post about visa

I am going down in October to get married to my fiancee and trust me... There is a lot of paperwork. You need to have your birth certificate, previous marriage cert if you were previously married, divorce decree if you were ever married previously, passport, letter from two people stating you are not currently married (you have to know these people for at leat 10 years), I need to come up w/an inventory of all property owned including life insurance polices. I need all this to be translated into Spanish and Apostilled and than I need to send all this to my fiancee so that he can give this to his notary down there (this is for civil marriage if you are using a church it is more) and than hopefully things will be approved for us to be married in six weeks. This is not including the filing time for the visa. Good luck!

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

Oh thanks for telling me.. No, I have only been using this site for about a month now... Thanks LA_MONA.

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

Please tell me... I want to know.... I am fearing it is something bad.....

britz30 comments on Bucamanga Hotel

I stayed at the Hotel Houston, that was a nice hotel and cheap. They also accept USD. Very pleasant people who work there!

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

What is that? Powwow?

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

We have been together for almost a year. I agree, it does not matter if they are close or far apart. I don't talk to my parents who are ragging alcoholics and my grandparents raised me, but I know that I am a good person. I guess it all depends upon who you are personally and what things you want in your life and how you are morally you know. No matter what country you are from etc..... I had asked my man about his past and he has been honest and has told me that yes, he did play the field when he was younger and yes he did have his issues, but those things are for the younger crowd and he told me that the women (not all) in Colombia now are all into Sex, drugs and partying all night long... I can see where he is coming from he wants a family and to have a good life. I applaud him for coming to his senses you know..... He told me that the girl before me he was with was 25 (he is going to be 36) and all she was about was herself(at that age, I would assume so... It is natural) and all they did was fight all she wanted was a good time....

britz30 comments on Western Union Comments solicited

Yes, moneygram works great and it is cheaper. They also offer a discount if you use them a lot and you can even use it online w/your credit card.

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

Well, I can say his family is VERY close. He is all into his mother, brother and sister. So, with that said, if he wants to have the same family that he has now, I am lucky. He has his father, but does not talk to him... His parents are divorced and I can only assume that his father cheated on his mother. Hopefully that is why he does not talk to him, and does not want to have anything to do with him for that reason..... Thanks ladies for your advice, it is wonderful! :)

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

Yeah I know they want the sex.... LOL He and I want kids, I am 35 and he will be 36, so my clock is ticking. LOL He said he wants to be there from the moment I take the test and until the end.... I was kinda shocked when he told me that. I don't know too many men, no matter where they are from who want to be that involved in a pregnancy. I ask so many questions because you hear so many negative things about Colombian men I just want to know what other people experienced. I dated a Colombian man when I was 17 and he was good to me. I will tell you that I think Colombian men ARE the most attractive men I have ever seen.

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

I agree... There are some good ones and some bad ones. My fiancee wants want I have to offer him in the way of love and kindness and "carino" and he has not asked me once about my finances or how much I make. Yes, I know that I have a good job, a house, a car and money but, I have made sure to keep those items to myself (other than the car) for just those reasons we were all discussing. I was married and am now divorced from an American whom I thought was good at the time, he cheated on me and you know to trust your feelings when they do. If that were to ever to happen again no matter if he were Colombian, American or Austrailian.... I would kick him to the curb and say see ya, I have spent enough time crying over things like that and would just leave. One more question, in general, do Colombian men want big families and want to take part in EVERY aspect of a pregnancy? I am not, but just asking. Thanks!

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

Thanks jinksmiester! I think I have found a good one. I understand what you are saying and yes, I had a Colombian boyfriend about 15 years ago when I was 17 and he used to tell me that his father used to have other women but was married to his mother and that was the norm, she accepted it and there were no problems. I would not and will not tolerate this. I know that in talking with his sister who now lives here, she had told me that I am very independent and that most American girls are.... Well, wish me luck! He will be my husband in a few short weeks! :)

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

No, I know it happens everywhere, here in the USA.... Well, I tend to think he is sincere as I have met his mother and his family and I don't know if he would introduce me to all them(we are very close his mother and I) if he was not sincere. I know the guys up here would not...

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

britz30 comments on vicshere

Vicshere: Do you know any good places to have a wedding reception in Bucaramanga? I just came back from there two weeks ago and loved it. My fiancee' lives near San Pio Parque. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but something nice and has good food. I noticed you lived in Bucaramanga. Also, how is the job market down there? I would love to move down there. Thanks!

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

Me, why me? I am just kidding. I live too far away.....

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

Elmo.... Thanks for the advice, however, I don't think I will be needing it. I like my man. :)

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

At least you are honest... I have never had a hooker so I can't tell you. I am sorry to hear about your hard luck.

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

Elmo I am sure you get others..... I always get the short guys, I have no idea why... :)

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

Elmo, thanks.. I think. :)

britz30 comments on Colombian Men

I had a good time dancing when I was in Colombia. We did a little Spanish dancing and than went to a bar that had Reggeton. It was great. I will say I love Colombia. In regards to the people (they were great for the most part), they were staring at me a lot. I don't know if it is because I am a 5ft 10in Strawberry Blonde female with blue eyes or if they did not like me holding hands with my Colombian man?

britz30 comments on JChrisusa

JChrisusa: No, not too personal at all.... I actually met him online at Amigos.com. I wanted to try something different. I was sick of all the "normal" ways of meeting a man here in the USA; he actually sent me the first email. I am not in Colombia now, I actually was there two weeks ago for a week and it was wonderful.... What a totally different encounter. He does live in Colombia... I live in the USA, in CT. Did I miss anything? LOL Looking forward to hearing from ya... Advice is great! :) Britz

britz30 comments on Lowell

Oh God, what does she say? ;)

britz30 comments on JChrisusa

Sure, I don't want to post it for all to see your hotmail address?

britz30 comments on Inside the mind of Colombianas

Thanks! I appreciate it. What is PM? Sorry, I am new here.

britz30 comments on Inside the mind of Colombianas

Mona... Well, I am due to get married to my fiancee in November and he is Colombian (obvioiusly) and he is so sweet, says the right things, etc... Are the majority of Colombian men like this? I have also been reading all these posts on how not to belive them etc.. they want to get something in return and than dump you... YIKES, now that has been put in my mind... HELP! :)

britz30 comments on Inside the mind of Colombianas

Mona: Your comments on my original question.... PLEASE, should I be worried? THANKS!

britz30 comments on JChrisusa

Yikes... I hope not my man. Now you have me scared... :)

britz30 comments on Inside the mind of Colombianas

Oh, I understand... Thanks! :) I loved Colombia, I just got back from Bucaramanga and it was such an experience.... Nothing like that in the USA... If you have any more tips, please share. THANKS! :)

britz30 comments on Inside the mind of Colombianas

Oh, ok.... What part of Colombia are you originally from?

britz30 comments on Inside the mind of Colombianas

Elmodefoque: Really? Now I am confused... So Colombianas don't like Colombian men... Do tell more, you have my interested peaked.... I want to know all the negatives. PLEASE!

britz30 comments on Inside the mind of Colombianas

Elmodefoque: So basically you are saying... EVERY Colombian that wants out of Colombia (male) is a low life scum bag? I disagree. This is the second Colombian I have dated and they were both very similar.... I appreciate you trying to warn me though..... (by the way, my man is all of the above, the good things that is....)
