Barack Obama- The symbol

As evidenced from this reporting by Al Jazeera, Barack Obama has gained symbolic stature. Obama represents the fight of the Black man to power for black Brazilians. A symbol of success and a symbol of change to traditional racial hegemony. Brazil a country of 190 million people with 90 million self-described black individuals has never had a black president.
