If Elmo wrote a book...

It has been discussed a couple of times, but I was bored last night and who know where my mind had wondered off to, but here is a look at elmo's book (if he ever wrote one)... Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket ...

Hope this helps others in similar situations

Late last year, I wrote about the problems that I was having with my marriage, and how thought I didn't beat the odds. I didn't listen to much of the advice posted here, but I had my reasons. Maybe it was because I already had a failed marriage and I wanted this marriage to work. Maybe, I am insecure and didn't want to have to re-enter the dating scene again. Maybe, I was more in love than she was. There was many things that contributed to me sticking it out in a marriage where she was unre ...

I think I need to give her the benefit of the doubt...

Talking with friends, and discussing all the things that have happened in the past 6 months. A revelation appeared. There is a very good chance, based on some medical problems she is having, that the tremendous stress that she is under may be causing a hormonal imbalance. In essence, her hormones are not right causing her to have emotional issues 'lack of love." Since I don't have the money to send her back right now, and she has to stay with me until then, I am thinking about getting her to ...

I guess I did not beat the odds...

It has been only ten days since my wife and her two boys, arrived in Orlando. By the second day, my wife was so homesick that she was either on the phone with family back in Palmira, or crying bucket-fulls of tears. A few day more, she is socializing by the pool she made a couple of freinds, and then I never thought I would ever hear these words while I was a married man. "I have lost the love I had for you. I had love for you in Colombia, but for now, CAN WE BE JUST FRIENDS?" My jaw dropped ...

Don't wait too long...

Ok all you guys out there that are waiting to know a Colombiana, for like a year or two, need to stop waiting soooo long. It is apparent on this forum that one can easily get to know a Colombiana by a month of phone/email conversation and a week of actually going down to Colombia! Lets see:

Your a guy
Shes a girl
You both live on planet earth.
You both have stated your love for each other.

Yep, plenty in common, so do't wait get married as soo ...

Does Chavez have visions of grandeur?

The reuniting of Gran Colombia?

Because this guys is Colombia's neighbor, I have been following this guys words and actions from the news. When I try to put everything in context, I find myself wondering if this guy thinks he can be another Bolivar, and can unite South America into a new Gran Colombia. I would not be surprised that he does not propose the idea to his new leftist president friends in the some-what near future. I also would not be surprised, if he does not try to ...

Strange as it sounds....can we delay an interview?

My wife a month ago went for her first interview for the k3 visa. However, they said that there was insufficient evidence of relationship and want us to setup another interview. Since then, my wife's father's eyesight has gotten really bad (almost blind), and with a lengthy discussion. We agreed that if it is possible to wait a month or two for the second interview, then we can take care of her father's operation first then worry about financing the second interview visit.

Back from Palmira...

I am back in the states from visiting my wife and kids in Palmira. A full week of hard beds, cold showers, and with a house full of women, nothing on TV but novellas.

One of these day, I need to find out what those matresses are made of. Unfortunately, when I get my wife to Florida, I will need to get something she can sleep on. She tells me the matresses in the hotels are already to soft for her to sleep on.

With such a warm climate, I would think that the amb ...

For the ladies: Did you have to change how you dressed, when you arrived in the United States?

I know I really need to qualify this question, so here it goes:

I noticed in Cali, Colombia the women wear very tight hip-hugger jeans and tight blouses. In addition, when it comes to the pool, many like to wear thong bikinis. Now, I realize this is normal for Colombia, and God knows, the women in Colombia can pull this look off, but in the United States, where people are more conservative on dress, might see these kind of clothes as a bit unflattering.

Did you no ...

stupid question, but I would like to know the answer

I flew avianca for the first time last weekend, and noticed that the seats are labeled A,B,C and D, E, K. Why 'K'? Spanish does have an 'F', jaja, or at least the last time I looked. :)

Just curious. ...

"Transporter 2" Hollywood gives another black-eye to Colombia

Guess who is behind hiring the bad guys in the new movie "Transporter 2." Thats right, the Cali Colombia Cocaine Cartel.

Is this the only thing Hollywood can say about Colombia? And we wonder why people know Colombia as a place spewing with drugs, guns, violence, and evil. It would just kill Hollywood to be original and say, have a hero or heroine come from Colombia.

Nah, they wouldn't know what to do with it. They will just keep regurgitate the same lines, cl ...

A way to a Colombian women's heart...Chocolate?

Is there good chocolate in Colombia? When I ask my wife or my good friends, which are female and also my wife's friends, if they want something for me to bring on my next trip to Colombia, The answer is always 'Chocolates.' On my last trip, I brought a box of chocolate covered cherries (my favorite) to my wife, she had never tried them before. Needless to say, she loved them. I think she also hid them from the rest of the family ;)

I know they have hersey's chocolate and nestl ...

Employment Agencies in Colombia...

With my wife's family having difficulty finding work in Colombia, I have to wonder if there are source for them to turn to, like we have here in the United States. My Question, is there Employment Agencies or Head-hunters in Colombia, in particular Cali Area, like Manpower that they can register with and provide a resume of skills, education and/or past work experience? Or is the unemployement so high that employers have hundreds of people each week asking for work? ...

With no public assistance, what do families do?

My wife's family, just had a bad run of 3-4 family members getting sick. At this time, no one in the family has a job. I am told that work is hard to find. My wife, currently in Colombia, says she can get a job as a waitress in one of the disco's, but I am against it. I am against it, because of the late hour she will be walking home from a place with a bunch of guys that most likely have had too much to drink. It sounds to me like a formula for trouble. I have sent her enough to buy medic ...

Respect for others, Responsibility for one's actions, or nobody has anything to sue for...

Each time I visit Colombia (Bogota, Cali, Palmira) I am amazed by the things I see around the city. Sidewalks that are cluttered, pavement that wobbles or is falling apart, things left in places that someone could easily get hurt. If these things were in America, the "Ambulance Chasers(lawyers)" would be salivating at the mouth, so I have to think that being there are lawyers in Colombia, that there are other reasons that you don't hear about people suing other people, or seeing landlords, rus ...
