Besorob comments on Credit in Colombia Vicshere, I do legally own the business, not my girlfriend. I have all the legal papers and a legal NIT (official business number). Panthdave, cellphone companies will not take cash for the plans that I need. I am not looking for a cellphone, I am looking for plans which give me several thousand minutes each month. The phone companies will not take US credit cards, cash, or anything else unless you are Colombia and Credit History. As it is, I have to buy these plans from a third party(legal) which is more expensive, and so what unreliable at times.

Besorob comments on Credit in Colombia Panthdave, a prepaid phone is expensive per minute. I know, I have one. However I can not use a prepaid in my cabinas.

Besorob comments on Credit in Colombia I guess I need to clarify. I do not live in Colombia. I only go about 4-5 times / year. I do have a business there and my girlfriend runs the business, but the business is legally in my name.

Besorob comments on HELP!!! Crazy relative won't sponsor niece out of spite!! What are options???!!!! In the first place, she is on a tourist visa, and should not be taking classes. A tourist visa is not for that purpose. This is why Colombians have such a hard time getting a tourist visa in the first place (like my girlfriend), because so many people abuse the tourist visa.

Besorob comments on Avianca Instructions Please. No Problems I have flown on Avianca many times, both from Miami (to different cities), and within Colombia. I have never had any problem, except for a 1 hour delayed flight 1 time. The advice that Miguel gave about the e-ticket is good advice. Be sure to get the email confirmation and print it and take it with you. I was just in Colombia 2/10/05 - 2/20/05 and I booked a flight from Cali to Cartagena. Luckily I went to the interet cafe and printed the email confirmation, because it contained a part which was needed at the ticket counter.

Besorob comments on Rola, preparing for busy trip back to Bogota, info needed Travel Agency and hotel on San Andres I went to San Andres 1 time. I used the travel agency Aviatur, which has many offices in Bogota. On San Andres, Decamaron has 5 or 6 all inclusive hotels on San Andres. I stayed at the Isleno(n=nye). It was not the fanciest hotel, but the rooms where nice, food good, the hotel was nice, and it was locating across from what I think was the nicest beach on San Andres. Only problem was that they would not make the reservations over the phone, so I had to wait until I got to Bogota and did a lot of waiting while they made they reservations. Decameron has an office in Bogota, but the prices were higher than with the travel agencies(not sure why). I didn't go the Providencia.

Besorob comments on Hotel in Cartagena I was in Cartagena 02/16/05, and I stayed at a very cheap hotel, but it was okay. The hotel is Hotel Playa on Avenida San Martin in the Bocagrande part of Cartagena. It was 72,000 COP/night including desayuno. The room was clean, but small and had 1 double bed and 1 single bed, cable tv, private bath. Only problem I had was that they don't have hot water, just whatever temperature comes out of the tap.
