Anybody travel with their guitar? I brought my guitar on a trip (just a one week resort visit) and it was such a pain to lug around in the hard case. A gig bag would have been better but I'd be too freaked out bringing my guitar on the flight without a hard case. Any suggestions? ...
Yes it's true. I've offered to take my 16 year old away for a few weeks over the Christmas holidays and suggested a couple places that have everything I want and everything she likes, (shopping, restaurants, music etc..) and she told me, "mom, I just don't like to go to foreign places". Hmmmmm. I'm quite certain she was switched at birth. Fine, so I asked that she give me some suggestions of places to go. Is it mean of me to tell her we're NOT going to Florida? She did however come up wi ...

Hey Ladies & Gents!! Does anybody have any input on taking a bus from Caracas to Cartagena? Is it better to fly? I thought the scenery might be kind of cool. Any thoughts / suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! ...
Does anybody else think it's odd that people are allowed to touch and climb all over these beautiful historical landmarks in Cartagena? I was shocked, well actually horrified to see the vandalism on the walls in the Monestary and also shocked that anybody could climb on and touch pretty much anything they wanted.
Is there a historical society or something similar in Cartagena that anybody knows of? ...
Can anybody recommend any good modern history books of Colombia?
Thanks for your help.
Does anybody know of any stats regarding how much tourism contributes to the economy in Colombia?

I've been warned about Colombian men (for my trip in December to Cartagena) that they are players, flirts, hot blooded and to watch out being a young Canadian girl travelling alone going to clubs etc... Any advice? Thoughts? Suggestions? Comments? Warnings? I'd love to hear what you have to say.
cheers - babygirl ...
Another annoying question, yes I'm sure you'll get sick of me between now and the time I leave for my trip..hahahaha! What kinds of tourists does Cartagena attract? Americans? Europeans? Colombians? other South American countries? God I hope so! Bring on the Latin hotties! woohooo! (sorry just being silly).
cheers - babygirl! ...
Hello! I just booked a package trip for a week to Cartagena over New Year's at the Hotel Caribe. Can anybody give me any good tips/info on this hotel or even Cartagena in general? I haven't been able to find any reviews on the net about this hotel either. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? haha! I guess I'm just a bit apprehensive as this is my first trip so ...
