I went through the whole canned tomato problem in June when I was in Cartagena. I'm not a cheap ass but I refused to pay that kind of money for a can of freakin' tomatoes. A few of the members on here gave me tips on how to make my own tomato sauce with fresh and it was amazingly easier then I thought it would be. Of course my Colombian friends preferred the ketchup crap you can buy at the store... (so nasty) but that left more for me :) As far as the pasta goes, I can't remember what brand I stuck to but it was fine and it was something that I recognized from ethnic shops here in Canada. I couldn't find capellini anywhere though.

Nope, don't live in Newfie land hehe. I have friends from there though, great people. So much fun and full of life. I've tried moose meat once it was a bit too gamy for my taste. I used to eat venison when I was married. My ex and family always got a few deer each season and this was not bad at all. Not gamy at all. I was told because the deer in the area where they hunted fed on the corn fields.

Unbelievable. I get what you guys are saying, MM, kat, Johnny. There really isn't much out there and they don't actively promote themselves (Colombia). The Colombia es Pasion campaign is fairly new and fantastic! I hope they move forward with that, it's nice to see them push. ummm Raay.. you talking to yourself or does Sapo have me on ignore?

Love this ad campaign. Anybody know what agency did this campaign? LOL Billyb good catch. Last year I was formatting a proposal on behalf of some oh so important people for the PanAm games. Well lucky for them I actually took a read through the letter and corrected the misspelled Columbia to Colombia. Considering it was coming from our MInistry of Tourism, thought it was a good idea ;)
