Yes the giant sahuaro cactus here in AZ can grow to 250 years old. it's funny nobody from PBH took me up on that beer but I stayed in the airport bar drinking club colombias until 5 am with a dude also on a layover, a colombiano from Santa Marta but who had lived in Hawaii and Utah of all places for awhile and we had a blast messing with people there.... Next time you fly to Tucson looking for cacti look me up!

Metallica....And Justice For All Tour, 1989, Rosemont Horizon in Chicago.
ME: a 17-year-old punker but I had a great time. We stayed in the parking lot partying while the opening band (Queensryce) played until one of Chicago's finest told us to pour the beer on the pavement and get our asses inside. Nice guy jajajaja.
And how often do metal acts come down to S/Central America? I was in El Salvador in 2007-2008 and I remember Iron Maiden went to Costa Rica. I was too broke to go.
Good to see you active babygirl! I will be in Colombia again next month.

btwells72 says on Oct 6, 2009, 22:08:

You rock. Actually I think that was 1988, but who's counting....jajaja. Besides I was getting into the Chicago punk scene at the time: Life Sentence, Bhoppal Stiffs, The Plague, and a slew of other hardcore bands that would come through the Windy City, many times at the famous Cubby Bear Lounge overlooking Wrigley Field. Old-Style swilling Cub fans by day, insane punkers by night. I saw NYC hardcore groups Murphys Law, Cro-Mags, MOD and scores of other groups, like Bad Brains, 7 Seconds there and at other Chicago venues.
My only regret: missing Slayer at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago!!!! Slayer is hard core metal. They were on Def Jam label at that time. A rap label!

btwells72 says on Oct 6, 2009, 22:28:

Awesome. I was in San Jose for a brief time and saw an interest. Never saw a show in Latin America. Scratch that. While stationed in San Diego I used to go to Iguana's in Tijuana, BC, Mexico. I saw Offspring and Rancid there in the early 90s, and DRI (crossover metal/punk band).
Babygirl, I like your style jajajaja

0 funny, 0 helpful.

btwells72 says on Oct 6, 2009, 22:40:

You were in San Jose at that time? That was in the spring of 2008 si o no?
Yes Costa Rica defenately has an audience. I remember leaving a Dillinger Four CD there for a good friend ;) I did my part to spread the music, lol. Look them up if you haven't heard of them.
Iguanas in TJ was a great venue. I have no idea if it is still there. Funny thing about the Offspring concert in 1993(i think, jajaj). I had never heard of them, nor Rancid. I went to catch one of my favorite bands from Orange County, "Rich Kids on LSD" jajaja no lie. I was late and Rancid was playing when I got in the door. They were covering an old British punk song by the Blitz: "Someone's gonna die tonight".... good times.

SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME WORLD TOUR 2008
Published: October 31, 2007
This first leg of Iron Maiden's 'SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME' World Tour will open in Mumbai India on Feb 1st, and continue through Australia, Japan, Los Angeles and Mexico, followed by the band's first ever concerts in Costa Rica and Columbia, and then on to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Puerto Rica and New York, before finishing in Toronto, Canada, on March 16th. Over the 45 day period it is anticipated that Maiden will play to well over 400,000 fans in 21 cities in 10 countries, flying close to 50,000 miles in the specially refitted plane (full schedule below).

I think it was in 2008 because I was looking at bus fares from San Salvador to San Jose and it was like $45. Cheap!

And as for TJ, I know both sides of Tijuana. My ex-wife has family in TJ and Mexicali and I saw a different side of the city, from TJ to Rosarito on down the coast to Ensenada. I have long outgrown (I hope, jeje) the seedy side of Tijuana and I have a great respect for los mexicanos. Besides I have seen worse people in NYC. It don't matter the city in my opinion!

I hate the cold but I like Canadians. My brother was stationed on an ice breaker on Lake Superior for 5 years. He doesn't like Canadians but he doesn't like anyone. I went to a Canadian's party in Houston and they only played Canadian Rock and Folk music and it was awesome. You are right, Canadian Girls do Kick Ass.
