Azul comments on Obtaining K1 for Fiancee and 5 yr son.

30 days?....I thought that it was 60 days in Colombia (90 in the US)

Azul comments on 10,000 US Dollars = How many Colombian Peso's?

your REAL question is about how much it will be to live in Colombia. Right? There are many variables and has been discussed many many times.....you'll find your answer if you search this site.

Azul comments on Anybody use www.12VOIP.com with dial up?

I'll give it a try :-)

Azul comments on Anybody use www.12VOIP.com with dial up?

How is 12COIP.com different than Vonage or Skype? Disadvantages...advantages??

Azul comments on USCIS contact information requested

I'm the type of person to get hurt rather than angry....although I always wished, especially when I was going through my divorce, that I could be angry instead of hurt. In a way I think that it is more empowering to be angry.

Azul comments on Travelers Checks?

Don't bring travelers checks.....basically worthless in Colombia

Azul comments on USCIS contact information requested

RJ, out of everyone here on PBH I relate to you the most....and your situation scares the shit out of me. When you feel comfortable please elaborate on your situation so that other like me have a better chance of avoiding the pain you feel. Thanks man, we're in your corner.

Azul comments on Cost of living (trying to figure out fair amount for child support)

Also....I am not 25 and I have children.

Azul comments on Cost of living (trying to figure out fair amount for child support)

...Buy her a car?? Really?? With that kind of treatment neither she or her boyfriend will have to work.

Azul comments on Tribute to Rubito......

Most of the time I didn't agree with Rubito's opinions.....but his statements were always well informed and I enjoyed reading them. This site is for learning and sharing about a Country that most of us here love, but it sure would be boring if we all agreed on things 100% of the time.

Azul comments on Cost of living (trying to figure out fair amount for child support)

No worries MaFe.... If that statement were true there would be a lot more Gringos walking around with Colombian citizenship jajaja

Azul comments on Cost of living (trying to figure out fair amount for child support)

And I also agree with Monita Linda 0

Azul comments on Cost of living (trying to figure out fair amount for child support)

MaFe says on Jul 5 (today): flag The baby will automatically qualify for American Citizenship! Yes, that is well know. But that is not what rhydewithdis said. His comment was "I would say one thing you could get out of this yourself is Colombian citizenship", and my question was how having a colombian born child would translate into citizenship (Colombian) for the father.

Azul comments on Cost of living (trying to figure out fair amount for child support)

rhydewithdis, how does being a father of a Colombian born baby translate into citizenship for him?

Azul comments on Cost of living (trying to figure out fair amount for child support)

Aloha, it is great that you want to help support your child. I applaud you. But a word of caution, make sure that your ex has been honest with you and that it is actually your child. This is a common scam that some Colombianas use get money from an ex Gringo boyfriend. So just be careful. The sad truth is that if you were a Colombian father, you probably wouldn't pay anything (or very little) at all. The father of my girlfriends daughter sends her about 40 mil COP every couple of months....when the dead beat feels generous I guess. jajaja

Azul comments on

Simple answer: You will not be mailed a bill, the bill will be delivered to you. You will not mail your payment, you will go to a payment location and pay. Simple, don't over think it or you will make it harder than it really is.

Azul comments on Bottles of beer

anything good does not come in a can....except maybe for Guiness

Azul comments on Moneygram- its gets you coming and going!!!

according to USAA's website, they offer a checking account that lets you use ATMs world wide without fees.

Azul comments on letter to allow children to travel

And another question.....what proof of guardianship does the notary require when notarizing a letter such as the one gator provided?

Azul comments on letter to allow children to travel

...possibly if financial incentive was given for him to sign. Why wouldn't he?? A dead beat dad offered a little cash to sign......

Azul comments on letter to allow children to travel

Is there paperwork that the father can sign giving sole custody to the mother?

Azul comments on What is the funniest or more naive thread or post you have read about Colombia here on PBH

It's funny that most Colombians will only bath in cold water....yet are afraid of getting wet in the rain because you'll catch cold and become ill :-)

Azul comments on Hotel Majestic, Barranquilla?

I like Hotel Versalles .... 105.000 per night

Azul comments on Bogota motel......but not for what you are thinking !!!

Azul comments on Avianca Customer Satisfaction/Disatisfaction Rating By Skytrax

I've always heard bad things about Avianca, but I've flown Avianca MIA to BAQ many times without problems. Although I do think that I've had better service with Copa / Aero Republica. I'm flying American next week MIA to BAQ for the first time...so I'll see how that goes.

Azul comments on Bogota motel......but not for what you are thinking !!!

There is an information desk on the second level...the girls that usually work there are pretty hot. I typically just spend the night in the airport.....the airport has a couple of waiting areas on the second floor...and although sometimes it's kinda noisy you can usually catch some zzzzzz before your morning flight.

Azul comments on American to charge for checked bags

What about the weight of the passanger? Shouldn't my ticket be less than the guy sitting next to me that weighs 100lbs more?

Azul comments on American to charge for checked bags

Very good question....I guess I'll find out because I fly American a lot

Azul comments on American to charge for checked bags

....but I just read that it doesn't apply to people with international itineraries

Azul comments on can one/does anyone want to sell some airmiles???

bufalo....pm me if I can help, I'm not always on PBH but I always have my email open.

Azul comments on can one/does anyone want to sell some airmiles???

Check out Continental...I've got just shy of 35,000 miles that I am willing to part with.

Azul comments on can one/does anyone want to sell some airmiles???

Do airlines let you do that? If so, I have Continental miles you are welcome to buy :-)

Azul comments on Passport for the I-129F

Thanks for the advice! It's appreciated....

Azul comments on I-129F / G-325A questions

ok, we are anxious to fill the papers but I think you are right. Better to play it safe.

Azul comments on Need some help with my Fiance's daughter

Is there not a more permanent solution?....many times these fathers are deadbeats and it is difficult enough to get them to sign something once let alone everytime the childs wants to leave the country.

Azul comments on I-129F / G-325A questions

Thanks! So what do you think....if I can sign her name pretty close to how she does should I go ahead and do that? Or should I play it safe and have her sign the papers when I go down there again in 3 or 4 weeks.

Azul comments on WHAT IS BEST SITE FOR INFORMATION ON BARRANQUILLA?

ronaldo...send me a pm if you have any specific questions, otherwise there is a lot of general info here on PBH

Azul comments on me quieres o me adores?

is that the order of progression...te adoro, te quiero, te amo?? jonas... WTF...

Azul comments on Barranquilla Hotel / Apartment

What's your budget? Why do you want to eat breakfast in the hotel?

Azul comments on perception of single mothers

Excellent point Mike! But what happens when the father is out of the picture completely like so many fathers are? I know one guy who split to another city when he found out his girlfriend was pregnant. If she ever wanted to apply for a visa for herself and her baby, she could probably track down the father but would she really need to? Obviously there must be legal roadblocks in place to stop mothers from taking kids out of Colombia without the fathers permission....right? ....and morphus, Colombianos prefer virgins huh?...I should have know you'd say that! jajajaja

Azul comments on e-tickets

Thanks for the info!!

Azul comments on Do I trust the Post Office?

Well, as of 10am today (Friday) my package was in Cali. FedEx called the recipient to arrange with her a time for delivery. I'm pleased with the service, although it was expensive, it took less than 48hrs to be delivered.

Azul comments on Do I trust the Post Office?

FedEx tracking is kinda cool! My box left Kinko's last night at 5:57pm and at 7:16pm tonight it was in Bogota. Now we'll see how long it takes to makes its way to Cali.

Azul comments on Do I trust the Post Office?

Hey Mikey, do you work for them or something...geez. I know I would have saved money using them, but as I said before it is only 12 days before Christmas and I wanted to just get the box sent hassle free that day. I know I could have shipped it to them, and then on to Colombia...but like many people this time of year I am in the Christmas Rush and it is worth a little extra money to avoid the extra time.
