Sunset? Your photo is not a sunset!!

Sunset occurs as the sun disappears beneath the horizon, your photo is "dusk" or "twilight" which occurs after sunset.

...but it is a great shot

Here is a sunset!

I am from Victoria.. just came back from Bogota & Cartagena

I found a girl I thought that I had lost forever 2 years ago, when she lost her cell phone and moved to Bogota. I met her 3 years ago.

When I go back next year, she want to get married and have a bambino, but she does not want to come to Canada... maybe I will move there with her in a couple of years.

anonimo comments on Back From Bogota!

Another Canadian in Bogota I was in Cartagena for most of December & my gf I met asked me to go with her to Bogota. My friends in Cartagena to me to be very careful as it is dangerous for gringos to take cabs.

She took the bus & I decided to go a few days later. My gf met me at the airport with her brother. We went to the north section but all of the hotels seemed to be full, so I ended up staying at her 2 room apartment in the south part, with her, her daughter, mother and brother's family from Cali (12 people in 2 rooms)

I had a great time. I was there for Christmas.. saw la Candelaria, downtown, Montserrat.. my legs are still sore from walking down from there!!

I will post a link later to a few fotos

anonimo comments on New Years Activities in Cartagena?

New Year's Eve I was in Cartagena for New Year's Eve last year and found that it was totally different than Canada. It seems that in Colombia, New Year's Eve is a very important night for families to get together and celebrate, rather than go out to a party.

I ended up spending New Year's Eve at my friend's place in one of the neighbourhoods near La Castellana, with her extended family, and neighbours.

They also like to buy & wear new clothes for New Year's Eve... and they dress up a "dummy" with old clothes and burn it in the street.. Loud music coming from most of the houses... firecrackers... it was a great night! I wish I had stayed in Bogota for it this year, instead of coming home a couple of days ago.

anonimo comments on www.colombianpossibilites.com (WARNING)

First of all.. I did not send money to Colombia… it was wired to the Citibank account listed below in California.. and the website was registered in the US. She almost sounded professional when she did the sales job on me.

Secondly, although I would like my money back, I do not expect to get it back. It is not a big deal, only $364US (1/2 of what she had quoted). I just thought I should post a thread on this site before she scams anyone else on here, as she said she is trying to get more business from PBH

I think it would be great if she was shut down. I don’t think I can report it to the FBI, as I am in Canada.

Marta Ramirez to me approx Feb 3, 2006

Hi ******,
Thank you for writing. Well I could not give you a set cost as I
cannot know for certain what her search would involve. However I can
tell you that our searches run in the $1000 dollar figure and they
usually take up to 6 months. I could agree to give you a discount and
make it a set figure we both can agree on.
There are ways to search for folks and although you have few details
about her we have many contacts and folks who help us along the way.
We have access to national databases that often are very successful in
giving us the right information. We pay for all information we receive
even if it takes us nowhere. We have been doing this for several
years, have a great track record and can provide you with references
to our work from past or current clients.
Her old address and cell number can lead us to current information.
I assume that you have tried to call that number and it is no longer
working or belongs to someone else, but through our databases we can
find if she was the one who took out the service, which would mean
that the cell phone company with have her ID number (like US social
security number), with that we are certain she would turn up in
Bogota. That number is needed for any kind of transactions for her or
her kid(s).
Please email me at info at colombianpossibilities.com
so we can discuss this
further or you can call me in Bogota at 6690420 or my cell 316-221-2280
Thank you
Marta

if this is acceptable to you.
Thanks

Marta Ramirez to me Feb 7, 2006

Hi ******,
Sorry for the late response, I had to go out of town for a couple of
days. Yes that payment structure is ok with me, I actually have a US
bank account with Citibank. So you can either do a teller deposit at any
Citibank branch or you can do a wire transfer into my account, this wire
has an $18 dollar fee so please make sure to add that to the payments.
My account information is:
Account holder: Marta Ramirez
Checking account with Citibank (US account)
Account number 40018810412
Routing Number 321171184
My address in the States is:
2040 Harrington Avenue
Oakland, CA 94601
The address of the branch the account was opened:
Citibank
2000 Shattuck Avenue
Berkeley, CA 94704
Please let me know when you will be making the first deposit so I can
look out for it and strat right away. Also you need to send me an email
with any and all information (old and new) you have on her, including
some pictures of her and her family.
Thanks for your trust and I look forward to working to give you happy
results.
Marta

My apologies, I meant Cartagena. We found a connection in Medellin just
a few days ago and I was talking to him this morning when I emailed you.
My bad!

Marta Ramirez to me March 6, 2006

Hi Dwayne,
I have 3 folks working at it right now, one in Medellin trying to find
folks who knew her through *****. Also in Manizales asking around where
she lived. And one in Bogota, this might be a long shot but we
wanted to
ask around places like ***** with her picture to see if she is working
along the same lines. We have not had luck yet, but that does not
mean
we won't.
We are trying also through the National Registry to get a hit on her
name and that way obtain a cedula number.
I will keep you posted.
Thanks
Marta

Marta Ramirez to me March 13, 2006

Hi ******,
We got some information as to a possible address in Bogota but she does
not live there, and they don't know her. So we are checking other
possible venues. We just had national elections and so the people I use
at the National Registry cannot help us with info right now, I have to
wait probably another week or so. What we are hoping to do is run her
name to get a list of all the women with the same identical name and
start a process of elimination. It will take a while but we will get her
for you.
I will keep you posted.
Thanks
Marta

Marta Ramirez to me May 3, 2006 (The last time I heard from her)

Hi ******,
I am actually out of town on a case at the moment but will return this
coming Friday. I will be having a staff meeting with all investigators
on Saturday and will get updates on all the cases. I will be emailing
you on Sunday or MOnday at the latest.
Thanks
Marta

Crop Dusting Does the USA still have the crop dusting program in Colombia to eradicate the coca crops?

Canada I can't say I am ashamed. If there was not a huge demand for drugs in the USA, there would not be a need for the supply.

The USA was not happy when our gov't here made it legal to possess small amounts of marijuana. I got a laugh when I saw on the news on US channels, Canada referred to as "Colombia North"!

I cannot see our government taking serious action to stop the growth of BC bud (apparently, the best marijuana in the world) as in the province of BC, the drug trade is the second largest industry.

anonimo comments on

and if the USA does decide to put an end to the growth of coca tomorrow... How will the farmers make a living?

anonimo comments on

Canada I think when it comes to nations which export illegal drugs into the USA, Canada is not far behind Colombia on that list. In the west coast, the growth of marijuana is a large part of the economy, and much of it is exported to the USA. I wonder how long before there are cries south of the border to invade Canada to stop the drug trade. I believe this will happen when the USA is desparate for resources (oil & fresh water)

Its not a Rumour "WILLIS CHALLENGES POLITICIANS TO END THE COCAINE TRADE

BRUCE WILLIS is taking his tough-talking DIE HARD character JOHN McCLANE to the streets of Washington DC in a bid to end the cocaine trade.

The 51-year-old action movie star fears little is being done to stop drug trafficking, and he's seriously thinking about challenging politicians to attack the problem head-on.

The outspoken actor says, "I think what the United States, and everyone who cares about protecting the freedoms that the largest part of the free world now has, should do whatever it takes to end terrorism in the world and not just in the Middle East.

"I'm talking also about going to Colombia and doing whatever it takes to end the cocaine trade. It's killing this country. It's killing all the countries that coke goes into.

"I believe that somebody's making money on it in the United States. If they weren't making money on it, they would have stopped it. They could stop it in one day.

"It's just a plant that they grow, and these guys are growing it like it's corn or tobacco or any other thing.

"By the time it gets here (America), it becomes a billion dollar industry. And I think that's a form of terrorism as well." "

anonimo comments on The last minute of your cellphone time on Comcel Amigos Calling Card??????

Comcel I could not believe how expensive Comcel's prepaid service is.

in 3 weeks, it must have cost me at least $50, almost double what I pay in Canada for unlimited evenings and weekends

btw, I was hoping to call and get my messages in Colombia (which I can't call from my cell phone now that I am in Canada)

When I call which buttons do I push to access my messages??

Is my security code the last 4 digits of my phone number??

Thanks

anonimo comments on In response to the "ass groping thread"

The key words in your comment are "In the U.S." The ass-groping did not take place in the US.

I think there is a problem with the US justice system, that only gives a guy found guilty of manslaughter 4 years in jail.

anonimo comments on Map of Cartagena high rises (large image)

Hilton Is the large building to the left of the word "Akashi", at the bottom of what appears to be a sand bar. If you drive through Laguito, you have to drive by the Hilton.

I have been to Cartagena many times. It is too bad that all this building is happening in Cartagena. I was in Cartagena last month, for the first time in almost 2 years and the city has changed. By city, I don't mean Cartagena, but specifically Bocagrande. Maybe I am a little older or there is not a decent disco there now since L'Esollera(?) replaced by a construction site where the talles building in Colombia will stand at 51 stories. This last trip, it seemed different, even Borrachita's was nowhere near as busy as it used to be. Many people buying the apartments will not need parking as there will be many timeshare units and most will be rented out.

The best beaches in Cartagnena are La Boquilla. There is still affordable property there, Yet, most likely in about 5-10 years, this property will be swalloed up by large hotels... I will be investing there!!

The best seafood I have had was in La Boquilla... great beach, hardly any vendors.

On another note, at an undislosed location, last month, I went to a place near Cartagena which had sea turtle on the menu, needless to say, knowing that it is an endangered species, I thought that I would indulge and get my fill of it before it is extinct. It is expensive but worth it. I look forward to next time.
