angelitabogota comments on Buca to Bogota WorldEditor bonito, Bucaramanga is about 7 hours from Bogota. It is about 50,000 pesos in nice and confortable-air conditioned, big buses. The companies that I should recommend are Berlinas or Copetran, that leave every 2 hours from Bogota. To travel by bus is safe. You can take with you one big bag or two that go in the storage and one hand bag that you place over you like in a plane. ;)

angelitabogota comments on Buca to Bogota If you are traveling in your car, you could also stop in Villa de Leyva. Nice place to see. It is all colonial arquitecture, and the streets are covered with big stones. The main square is the biggest in South america.

angelitabogota comments on Buca to Bogota I should recommend San Gil. It is about 2 hours after leaving Bucaramanga. You can see the gallineal park which is beautiful and also practice rafting on the Fonce river. A PBH member owns a hotel there, I guess it is called macondo hostel, it looks nice and not expensive. The weather in San Gil is just perfect, and the town has nice views (there are 2 streets uphill from where you can see the whole town) it is amazing. Have you been to the Panachi park? it would be a nice stop too.

There are still good people. In my case, I am going to marry an american who is going to move to Bogota with me. And he is not rich. In fact I will support him economically while he gets a job here. I am sure there are many good women in Colombia. Good luck.

En tanto, la acumulación de viviendas unifamiliares sin vender saltó a su mayor número en más de dos décadas. El precio medio de una vivienda usada bajó un 8 por ciento, frente a los precios de hace un año, a 202.300 dólares. Los analistas pronosticaron nuevas bajas de precios debido al enorme inventario, que en abril llegó a 10,7 meses de existencias al ritmo de ventas presente, el mayor nivel desde junio de 1985. Las baja de ventas en abril fue levemente inferior que la anticipada. La industria de la vivienda sufre una prolongada contracción, con el consiguiente retroceso de ventas y precios y el aumento de los embargos hipotecarios por impago, tras cinco años de ininterrumpida expansión en el sector. Las ventas bajaron especialmente en la parte central del país, un 6 por ciento, seguidas por un 4,4 por ciento en el noreste de Estados Unidos y un 6,4 por ciento en la costa occidental, mientras que el sur apenas experimentó cambios. I teach full time in a bilingual school in Bogota and sometimes I teach particular classes to some kids who need reinforcement and they pay me about 30,OOO COP per hour. This is what all the teachers I know get payed per hour right now.

angelitabogota comments on Flights in Colombia I do agree with you jaramillo. The Bolivariano, Brasilia or Berlinas are good confortable buses. I have traveled so many times in bus with my american boyfriend and nothing has happened to him.We have traveled to the Coast, Meta, Santander.... The trip from Bogota to Cali is about 8 hours, and the landscapes you can see are amazing. This is a good way to see more of this beautiful country. Do not worry about safety. It is well known that those big buses companies pay a tax to the "bad guys" so they do not mess with them anymore ;)
