andresote comments on AMIGOS EN AUSTRALIA

Mucha suerte

andresote comments on Ojo colombianos, no se duerman

andresote comments on Sex and cultural history

Gotta disagree too - the Colombianas I have met were all a lot better and lot more keen at oral than girls from Australia and other countries, and not squeamish about 'cleaning the machinery after use'. But I haven't been with any chicks from the USA and maybe they're real filthy co at ksuckers... I think one difference is that Colombianas generally aren't 'easy' - you gotta put the work in or have the paisa gift of the gab to get round all the bases, whereas you just have to get gringas drunk...

andresote comments on curramba!!!

Hey guys you know that in Valle 'chucha' means something like 'armpit funk' and 'cuca' is the word for the, uh, feminine nether regions. I think the ecuatorianos and peruanos use 'chucha' and puertorriqueños say 'chocha'... correct me if I'm wrong ;)

andresote comments on Updated approved FTA Deal with the U.S.

Free (arms) trade... The real beneficiaries of the free trade agreement are the Pentagon - they gotta sell all those army surplus weapons somehow!

This link shows some more benefits of the free trade plan for Colombians -

http://www.witnessforpeace.org/pdf/Colombia%20FTA%20flier%20FINAL.pdf

and this one shows where the US's heart is really at -

http://www.worldpolicy.org/projects/arms/reports/MilitaryAidLA110405.html
'Colombia tops the list for IMET (international Military Education & Training), with $9.3 million in military training aid since 2000, an increase of almost 90% over six years. But other countries have received larger percentage increases over the same period. IMET funding to El Salvador and Nicaragua increased more than 200%, and their neighbor Panama received a 400% increase between 2000 and 2006.
At the same time that military aid and training are on the rise, U.S. economic aid to the region is dropping-- the 2006 foreign aid request foresees a sharp drop especially in development assistance, child survival and health programs. In 2002, in the United States budgeted $225 million for U.S. Agency for International Development programs in Latin America, including funds for child survival and health programs, disaster and agricultural assistance. The request for 2006 totals $125 million for the region- a decrease of more than 40%.'

Reefer... maaaaadnessssss Everyone knows you shouldn't smoke reefer - it'll make you paranoid, and you'll start seeing commies under the bed, viet cong at the door, weapons of mass destruction in the back yard and Hugo Chavez coming down the chimney to steal your Christmas presents...

andresote comments on US Biker is Colombia "Black Leather jacket and do-rag?

When in Rome... Out of 50+ posts, Azul looks to be the only person who has given some sensible, courteous advice to Stateside's request for some info. Just because we're online doesn't mean people have to be ruder than they would to someone's face, right, guys...? He might end up deciding to not even go, after some of the ads for Colombian tourism I've seen here. As Azul says, "Just for being Gringo you are going to draw attention". Colombia isn't yet a country accustomed to tourists/foreigners (maybe one day...) so locals view foreigners with suspicion, interest, bewilderment, malice, lust, or any combination of these... and it's quite a conformist and conservative society (well, maybe not girls' nightclub wear...), so if you arrive dressing like you would at home (or on vacation) you'll draw even more attention. Maybe Stateside might blend in better with his leather jacket, but with his doo-rag freshly laundered, some nicely ironed Arturo Calle jeans, and brand new boots? ;)

Not sure if this is off-topic, but... I found this article by Noam Chomsky, it's a couple of years old now, on how the USA is helping out its little brothers in Colombia, and the untold benefits of US aid -

andresote comments on Jealousy and colombianas...

not just colombianas get jealous, I think this is something that's fairly universal among most races of women, but perhaps because Colombianas and latinas in general are more forthcoming with their emotions it's a little easier to see in them...?
My Colombian wife tells me that she's not a particularly jealous girl, but qualifies it by saying that if you don't get at least a little jealous sometimes it effectively means you don't really love that person, which I think is fair enough.
Jealousy (especially when it seems unwarranted... i.e. all the time)and other emotional phenomena can be hard to handle, but as others have said it's part of the price you pay for having a beautiful, funny, sensual, sexual, caring, loving Colombiana for a partner... enjoy!

andresote comments on A" pecking order" in South America

hard to say what the pecking order really is when each country generally tries to present themselves as one peck up from the others. I can tell you that my Colombian wife was startled when I said I wanted to go to Peru "Porque quieres ir pa' alla?? hay solo puros indios tan feos?!" which is not exactly true but there are certainly a lot of people, especially in rural areas, of Quechua indian origin.
Brasilians generally seem happy and happily oblivious to the rest of south america but at least they generally understand spanish when you can't say many other south americans understand portuguese...
One should dislike argentines just because of how they speak, they sound even more drunk than chilenos! I don't think their 'European-ness' carries any weight with spaniards (who speak uglier spanish than anyone in south america... and especially COLOMBIA!) who sneer at all south americans as shameful (very) distant cousins...
Sorry this is not very expert just my humble observations :)
