aluheln comments on For those that get pissed at the Spelling of Colombia Colombia It isn't so bad when they spell it wrong and you can say that is C.O.L.O.M.B.I.A. What is bad is when they insist that it is spelled Columbia. There is no way to convince them that it is wrong.

aluheln comments on Immigration procedures at the Bogotá airport Advice Did he make the connection? Were you worried for no reason? The good news is if you miss a flight they put you on the next one. They don't leave you in the airport forever.

It is never a good idea to agree 100% with what anyone else says. I personally believe that it not possible only maybe with wives who are scared of their husbands or ?????? My eyes are not blue but they won't leave you.....

aluheln comments on Visa To another Countries Visas The best thing to do is contact the consular office of the country you want to visit in the United States closest to the city you live in. You can usually find the e-mail on the website and most answer right away. If you don't get the answer soon contact others furthur away.

aluheln comments on Just wanted to say hello! I...S...S...L...I...ROCKS I So Surely Love Igneous...Rocks. Colombia has some very nice igneous rocks. As I was researching ideas of sites in Colombia to observe some very nice igneous rocks, I was shocked to learn about the tragedy in Armero, Colombia in 1985 when the volcano, Nevado del Ruiz, erupted and the ensuing mudflows covered several towns killing an estimated 25,000 people. I know that has happened several times in history but it is still shocking when you hear about such a large number of lives lost. I wonder if they had any warning and just ignored it or if they didn't have any warning and were completely surprized. It is my understanding however that the only way to get lovely igneous rocks is from lava flows therefore something interesting and beautiful is created from the destructive and deadly force of terrible volcanoes. Obsidian is my favorite igneous rock. I would like to visit Armero in the future if there are no signs of volcanic activity of course.

aluheln comments on Just wanted to say hello! Facts or Opinions? The negative criticisms here presented are only opinions and biases and not facts. This is a re-post of a letter that the same individual wrote on another post in July. http://poorbuthappy.com/colombia/node/19673
