I think the same thing is happening here in San Francisco. Recently at the (few and far between) Colombian events that take place here, 99% are feas, mostly from Bogotá. I've been to Bogotá several times and I know there are lots of beautiful women there so it's nothing against Bogotá, I'm just saying that most of them for some reason, out here in San Francisco, seem to be from Bogotá. I noticed something similar the 2 times I've been to the US embassy in Bogotá. I couldn't frickin believe the people they were giving visas too. Not only fugly, but frickin broke as phuk. Bad suits, bad makeup, beat up shoes, I didn't get it. And all these hotties being turned away. Definitely some jealous beeatches or something behind the windows is my guess. Either that or their experience tells them that the broke ugly people are a better bet to let into the USA. Go figure... I too got sick of gringas so I went back to Medellín, lived there for a few years and dated a beautiful paisa while I was there, brought her here in 2006 and married her. Colombianas for the most part make way better girlfriends and wives than gringas. I've had gringa girlfriends (1st wife too) all my life, so it's not like I was a loser who couldn't get laid. Exactly the opposite. But I came to a point where there was something missing in my dating life, and I realized I needed to go back to de homeland mon. Dated a Bogotana, beautiful girl but didn't work out. Dated a paisa afterwards, and that one worked out. Paisa women...mmm. Finger lickin good!

AlejandroMoreno comments on Finally saw my first real crime in Medellin this weekend

re: Please stop talking about crime in Medellín I don't mean to rip on you personally, I want to address the topic in general, that is, of why for some reason people talk about crime in Colombia, as if it didn't occur in their own city, state or country. I could talk about the person who was shot at the club on Las Palmas, or who was robbed by the hooker they were trying to get a date with, or who had their car stolen in a bad neighborhood. I could also talk about all the murders in the state of California, NY, Florida and Texas this past year and that alone would be FAR scarier than the statistics coming out of Colombia. For some reason, people think that the shit that happens in Colombia, DOESN'T happen anywhere else. Your shit stinks too. Colombia doesn't have kids going into schools and shooting up the place, Colombia doesn't have highway shootings like they do in L.A., Colombia doesn't have serial killers like the U.S. does, Colombia doesn't have entire skyscrapers blown to hell by foreign terrorists (twin towers), nor local terrorists for that matter. So for someone to say, "oh yeah, I had a friend who went to Colombia, and they got robbed man", is just about as fucking stupid as someone saying "there was this German tourist in Chicago once, and he was robbed". Of course there have been tourists that have been robbed, even murdered, in the USA. So WHY hearing about a robbery or a murder in a big city in Colombia would make you react differently than all the stinking foul garbage that you hear and see on the local and national news is just fucking beyond me. Pull your head out of....the sand and just think logically, and tell the next person who says something negative about Colombia, how many murders there were this past year in the good ole US of A and see what they say. Example: Chicago 2003 - 598 people murdered. Helloooooo?

Mistake with "Facts to Get Started": Kidnapping rates Mexico has now surpassed Colombia in this statistic. Regardless, it's still too high. However, it's easily avoided.
